I hope these satellites lag out in the middle of Space and blow up due to motorola's services. I would also like to nominate myself for the extra 2 billion that will fall out of the satellites, i will donate to charity. Remember, motorola says "As of yesterday, March 15, 2000, we have no further information as to what will happen with respect to Iridium service after March 17. We will provide an update if and when we receive additional information.", motorola spent all that money for a great cause.
I was doing some research on the IRIDIUM satellite, hopefully IRIDIUM will burn and we wont have to see these flints/glares. Yes, very risky and pretty stupid on their part, i think you are completely correct when you say that they are trying to help a product that is already dying and losing marketshare, but i think that they are trying to see how this thing will go on a shitty product such as WinCE.
Personally, i don't think microsoft will ever be successfull with Open Source, for one thing they will have to deal with A LOT of criticisms that will come from all ends, others might think of this as a Worthless attempt to compete with other Operating Systems, and another possibility is that they won't even go Open Source. Here is a quote from the Article i found on ZDnet, "

Another issue that developers are looking into is that CE is at the bottom of the "OS hierarchy" which shows us that Microsoft is trying to be cautious in going Open Source.
I agree, this is indeed an idea that has been thought about greatly in the past few years as technology spanned. I have heard many interesting debates about this one, some opposed obviously, but i found this to be a good idea. The only thing it is lacking is the level of social interaction that modern educational institutes have to offer.
i think that an attachable Liquid Nitrogen air bubble would do better, but this is cool, i can't imagine anyone wearing these, but this is cool... "Stay tuned for our upcoming contest to see who has the most unique way of using our Plasma Laces! Winner will receive ALL 8 pairs of colors, worth $240.00!" [ Most unique way of using them? hmm.. i would say the most unique way would be to commit a 3rd degree murder. ]
