    More importantly, in my opinion, was that they were trying to run the reactor below the minimum safety thresholds and they ignored the warnings because they wanted to see how much juice they could get out of the generators as the spun down in the event of shutting down the reactor. Then, when they finally realized they had to do something fast, the rods jammed halfway in. Then all hell broke loose (obviously).

    I posit that "You guys" is not in fact directed at you specifically, but at the general Mac ecosystem, and your command line use is a pretty good indicator that you're an "above average" Mac user (yes, we're on Slashdot, so it's not surprising...). Ergo, the argument could be made that the statement was not directed at you at all. In which case, thank you for your personal experience, but I've had my share of "oh look, I'm an atypical J Random Thing user" comments that don't offer any actual insight. And I do so love the idea that anyone who disagrees with you doesn't know what he's talking about (not specifically this instance, but throwing around the terms "strawman" and "hypocritical" are usually good indicators) or is crazy. At least your freedom comment was halfway useful.

    And a chimp could figure out how to use it. I remember Ubuntu replaced it with Empathy or Miranda or something a few releases back and I spent about 5-10 minutes trying to figure out how to get that one set up before I said "screw it", uninstalled it, and put Pidgin back on.

    I was under the impression that the main reason why people hate physical pennies is the cost of minting vs. their value. Don't bitcoins not have a direct cost of minting? And rounding everything off to the nearest 10 just sounds onerous.
