My SUV makes me feel safe from people who can't drive and I use it all summer long when I go camping and fishing in the woods.... And if you think it looks cool you should get one... they're great, talk about comfortable!

Millions of people have died from radiation from nuke testing. Entire countries still suffer and will continue to suffer from those tests... As bad as I feel for your friends... it's pretty trivial. My cousin was killed by an SUV.. but it was her fault, not the SUV... I knew people who died from beer poisoning.. yet people just keep drinking... SUV's and gas consumption is so freakin unimportant it's stupid...

This planet is here for us to use, we are the reason nature exists.. we will leave it within 100 years and it will repair it's self... whats the problem... there are many more just like it.
There are millions of Big Rigs out there that do far more damage in accidents and burn far more fuel than SUV's... there are thousands of industrial processes that use more fuel every second than my SUV burns in a year.. I find it hard to believe that Iraq, china and india have neuclear weapons and ANYONE gives a RATS ASS what I'm driving... it's time to grow up a little and put shit in perspective!
You have a good point.. If there is no economic interest in caring for the lives of our "food" animals they would be left on their own. Farmers would release the animals to free up grassland for plant life (which would be much more in demand). These animals would die off in vast numbers as they coped with being free and eventually the population would level off or die out. The preditor population would temporarily explode as a new consistant food source became available... I imagine we'd get some new disease floating around from all the carnage.. we'd probably get some wierd neurological problem from the lack of meat... humans would slowly get dumber.. then the astroid would still hit the earth and we'd all die, because Bruce Willis would be too wimpy from all the sprouts to blow the fucker up... it's a lose/lose situation so we might as well eat the fucking cows.
If you have a job that pays you to do what you would/will do in your free time anyway, you're all set... Not to mention if you can work for anywhere... I got paid to program from a Jazz fest. this weekend.. it was great I kicked back and wrote some PL/SQL and listened to some great live music and drank...and drank... and drank.. life is good.
