  1. Re:Wow.... on GeForce3: Real-time RenderMan? · · Score: 1

really? I have a tnt2 (Diamond tnt2...I forget the revision number...) in my machine...I know its old, I'm waiting for creative to release a geforce3. But, I've had my Diamond Viper 770 forever (and so have all of my friends) and I (them too :-) have never had _any_ repeat _ANY_ problems with them. Be it using the drivers that came with the card, or the latest detenator drives I downloaded from Nvidia (for Linux or win32). Either your board was defective (did you try to exchange it?) or you shoved it into a pci slot some how. Was that voodoo5 you bought pci? If it was, have you ever tried another card in your AGP slot? That could be fried. Also, check your BIOS, do you only have 64 megs of ram, and have your AGP apeture size set to 64 megs? The TNT2 chipset was one of the best chipsets in my mind. I'm still running a Viper 770 on my windows boxen at home, and my linux box here at work.

    Pantent Application.

Patent information: Patenting the act of sex.

Not to be confused with intercourse (the act of a man and womaen mating in order to make a child). I am presenting this patent application for the act of the Male mounting the female, and then proseding with the male thrusting into and out of the female for pleasure. The act of intercourse (which is embeded into our primal instincts) is mearly just the exchange of body fluids in the hopes of creating a child. Sex is when the male and female preform a mating like ritual, whereas the main goal is to derive pleasure, and not a child. Intercourse is a freely occuring, and naturaly occuring thing. Intercourse being when a male and female plan on creating a baby, and populating the planet. That is naturaly occuring. If the whole act is done for pleasure, then that is sex, and would be occurring under un-natural circumstances and therefore would fall under my patent.

  5. Similiar Situation on Linux & Education - How To Get It For Your School · · Score: 1

I am a High School student at Cumberland Valley HS in Pennsylvania, and I had a similiar situation occur. Under a project with the gifted program I, and a group of other students in the gifted program, we were to get a server for the school up dealing with students and teachers uploading and downloading homework. Our HS is run on Novel 5 (grrr!) and the school's net admin told us it would be a good idea to run off of windows NT Server 4.0 because it is more stable. I really doubt that he has ever heard of linux before. My teacher wanted to follow what the Network Admin at our High School suggested, but through some work with the school board I was able to get a Linux box up instead of a NT box. But as far as having all of the schools computers run off Linux, it would be very unrealistic at my school. We have over 6,000 students across 4 grade levels and well over 500+ pentium 3 500mhz compaq computers. Most of the students and teachers have a heard time saving documents in MS Word. So Linux would be leaps and bounds ahead of them
