A whole program trying to deflect bullets with magnets. Aren't they made of lead?
No scientist would even bother trying to curve a bullet by flicking his wrist, or trying to swing 360 degrees. You don't need experiments to know that's not going to work.
Um, that is the basis of the Scientific Method.

Interesting bit of history. I was always taught that it was designed to look like a B-52 in a circle. Not sure how anyone could ever think a B-52 would be a peace symbol though.
Dark Matter isn't the big deal there. Dark Matter is just Matter that doesn't emit energy, it could be just dust out in space. Dark Energy however is the stuff I can't get my head around.
He is reading it on a laptop screen, are you? The laptop screen he is specifying is most likely a 17" screen running at 1920x1200 native, which means the pixel density (dot pitch) is insanely high, might be the cause of his inability to read it. The text hurts my eyes to read on my 24" monitor running 1920x1200 res, so I can see how dropping to a 17" (or even 15"?) would cause it to be difficult to view.
The Eve Online client, and many clients like it also distribute this way, who wants to d/l 1.5GB over a http session? Linux ISOs are often transfered with P2P as it is much easier and faster.
I would love to see this happen, though it looks now like the IT guy at the university denied the accusation. WOW uses P2P to distribute its patches, how many students play WOW?

Or you learn how to troubleshoot the problems, and are willing to admit that Windows does many things better then Linux? Mail server? Centralized authentication server? DNS? File server?
Use the correct tool for the problem. As far as that particular problem, that one might actually require a call to Microsoft as it sounds like a failure in the logging of the error (Unknown Error) if it is a persistant problem then I would call them, if not, oh well. Though I am pretty sure you made up that error message, and I have seen forum posts like that.
Real sysadmins use what works for the purpose. Are you saying you wouldn't recommend Exchange to a client for email because you are such a purist you can't see it is the best solution? Limiting yourself to just one OS does not a good sysadmin make. I would consider myself an expert in Linux, Windows, a few Unix variants; good at Mac and Solaris, so I do speak from experience.
www.vw.com there are plenty of diesel engines for sale there. or www.mbusa.com, or www.volvo.com
Stop trying to buy American if you want a diesel. A diesel Jetta is a great car and will last 20 years. Even smaller you could go with a diesel Golf, but I think they actually cost more then the Jetta.
I see nowhere in that comment where he condemns gay marriage, he just says that the courts are being abused to squash unpopular laws. It is the law in most of the country that marriage is between a man and a women. If you don't like that, protest. But, going to the courts to get the law taken out is the wrong way, as it encourages legislation (part of the legislative branch of government) from the bench (party of the judicial side of the government) which is against the constitution.
I immediately thought of the "somebody else's problem" field in HHGTTG
I would say compressed or spread out, the speed doesn't particularly change.
you're one of the uninsightful asperger cases who thinks that "it isn't for me" means "it sucks".
I do not think that word means what you think it means.
The freefall sensor in my laptop at least is configurable, I would imagine most of them can be turned off.
Don't forget to include the near zero maintenance expense, they said it only needs occasional brake work due to regenerative braking.
Hey, no need to be mean, not all of us started accounts when Slashdot came out, though I was sure reading back then and posting AC.
I don't know about my kids, but she is my hero now, how do I friend her on Slashdot?

But, he's 42, he's sooo OLD! (joke, I am 30 and would hardly consider that old)
As I recall, and don't feel like reading wikipedia to verify, Einstein didn't even finish high school.
My thought exactly, should we expect a bombing attempt on the Vatican in about a week?

Agreed, choose the right tool for the job.

On that question, that was not one of the answers. ATM, 10baseT, 10base5 and Skynet 1000

Why yes, yes I am.
Um, you don't know much about Colombia then. They have made significant advances in fighting the drug cartels. Maybe you are thinking about Mexico?

I don't agre with your summary there, are you sure you are reading it correctly? It sounds like:
If there is a premature birth due to above actions there are two outcomes
1. the baby lives, there will be restitution
2. the baby dies, he will die
Pretty clear to me, though it seems like this has little to do with abortion as it is talking about a woman being hit during a fight.
