You really think the purchasing company has no influence over the company they're buying? They can make specific upcoming business decisions paramount to buy out! You have no idea whether or not Microsoft had something to do with this decision. I can't help but wonder why you think you do.

He's an experienced astronaut who was on the International Space Station for half a year and has multiple high level degrees in engineering, astronautics and planetary geology. He's a recipient of the esteemed Silver Snoopy Award and is literally a friggin' Eagle Scout.

So many kids are signing up with little programming and virtually no CS theory under their belts and institutions are nothing if not overjoyed to take their money. Soon, however, they become shocked into heavy schedules of general electives once the learn the dirty truth of what CS really is.
