Keep it simple stupid - there is the old saying that no one ever got fired for buying Microsoft.
If I owned a company and someone under me bought Microsoft for corporate use, I'd fire them on the spot. Disclaimer: If it's for personal use, I wouldn't care.
I want to mod you down for an argument that looks like a blatantly placed advertisement, but sadly, the Slashdot Gods have not bestowed upon me any points with which to mod you down.
MS Office targets the office manager and the clerical worker.
The features that work for them are what sell the product - and it sells very, very, well even at retail.
Are these the guys who have little to no technical knowledge and therefore no real business making decisions on what software to use on behalf of the guys who actually have to use it on a daily basis?
Companies hire geeks to act like pretentious douche-bags and they hire nerds (such as me), to get some actual work done. Why is this? Because we actually know what we are doing. If a nerd needs to get some work done, the smart office manager will let them just work. But most of them stick their noses where they don't belong, and that my friend is why productivity is lacking.
The most laughable point they make in that video is "If it breaks, where's the support?" You are the support!!
When I start my own business, it's Open Source or you're not getting hired by me. Contrary to business logic, which I personally consider to be something akin to dream world logic, I prefer to have people working for me who can actually figure stuff out rather than have things handed to them on a silver plate.
Bottom line is that managers need to step off and let the people who actually work for them figure out how they work best. Open Solutions are really the only way that can happen.
Flash...
Definitely flash if you're teaching to artists. As much as I detest and despise flash (as a guy who prefers C++ and Linux), it is probably the best way to teach game development theory to artists.
It's familiar, has a built in pipeline, and although the compiler sucks, Actionscript is fuckeasy to pick up.
Here's the thing about freenet though. It is still reliant on telcos isn't it? That would make it still easy enough for governments to censor it given enough time. As long as there is a corporate middleman/agenda, there will always be censorship.
Have them contact you if they want the non-watermarked version, which will, if your stuff is as good as you make it out to be, be undoubetdly lower quality. As their quality slips, so does their ad-revinue. They should eventually turn back to their cash-cow.
Best way to deal with this horseshit is to nip it in the bud. At least in a perfect world.
Now the National Music Publishers Association has weighed in to support ASCAP, saying that organizations like Public Knowledge and the EFF 'have an extremist radical anti-copyright agenda,' according to a transcript of a speech posted on Billboard.
Amirite?
You are automatically my favorite person in Hollywood.

Another round of "Lets completely fuck up the Earth."
Because the market is going to come down on them like a Tsunami once they do.

Use electricity to create liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. No, really, it's just that simple.
Shit, don't let the oil barrons catch you uttering such blasphemous statements.
Still bullshit.
Countries can still one-up China by designing a bus that can leverage existing roads.
That's the smell of a shit-storm on the horizon.
Because I personally feel like retaliating. Thats bullshit NAMCO!!!
Tell that to the Lispers.
Insert "How's Episode 3 coming along?" comment here. Also, isn't Valve admitting bugs in VAC one of the four horses of the apocalypse?

Blow it out your ass.
