Interesting, I seem to remember a science fair award that involved both an audience, rewards, and applause. And that was high-school, not elementary school.
Granted, the local media didn't give two flying fucks about it.
As arbiter1 said, the riaa and mpaa won't attack a company that has the money to fight back. On the other hand, maybe MegaUpload should file a suit against the *AA's for all the shit they put people through.
Then what wireless carriers should do is the ethical thing and stick with a cap on the data rate, not how much data can be consumed per month. Oh wait, they can't do that. Then they won't have a way to slap us with ludicrous charges! They treat it as if it is some sort of mine of data that can be depleted, when really, it's how fast someones current session is allowed. The 5GB/month is pure and utter nonsense.
It's unethical bullshit like that that really makes my blood boil, and what's worse PEOPLE FUCKING BUY INTO IT!!!
As a programmer, something like this would be perfect for working on the go. However, the specs really don't seem like they will fulfill the needs I have (I do alot of work with OpenGL).
But that thing looks sexier than the iPad. First company to make a full sized laptop version has me sold. Bonus points if the hardware is Linux friendly.
I will make damn sure that they do it in front of everyone in line, just so that they can see how they treat American citizens. And for an added bonus, I'l give myself a boner beforehand, just to embarrass them as much as they embarrass everyone else with this bullshit. Sure, sheep may feel safer, but there are some of us in this country that actually... you know... like the 4'th amendment. I have nothing to hide, so I don't have a problem submitting to a pat-down. But people need to realize that this bullshit is nothing but wool over their eyes.
It boggles my mind the lows the corporate entities will stoop to keep alive the consumerist mindset that has gripped the American economy.
Protip to any and all patent holders considering this: The free market made you rich as fuck, and that same free market can destroy you if you refuse to adapt. Who was it who said "The wise man adapts to the world, the fool attempts to adapt the world to himself. In the end, the fool wins."?
--- I'd do a lot more coding in Linux if I had something that was similar to (and of the same quality, which throws out things like Monodevelop) Visual Studio.
Vim;)

But tlaking 2 me liek this can b bad 4 yuor health.
You could extend that and say the same thing about Windows.
He didn't say. You can read his comment bellow the twitter stuff on the article page.
The exploit he demonstrated has since been patched by Apple.
But I'm biased as one of those "Younger developers".
We may finally see some devices that bear the sticker "Made in America"?

Obviously student laziness is not a factor... God damn it I used spell-check on 'laziness'. What has technology done to writing/me? T_T
Most tools anon uses are made to "Just Work" (TM), so no shit.
/me raises hand.
I do believe you are forgetting about Windows 98.
Disregard that, still waking up. Windows 98 is a prime example of what you outlined. Now excuse me while I hook up my coffee IV drip.

Those who don't like $800.00 wireless bills.

Says a bit as to why SSD technology is taking so god damn long to progress.

Flawless victory.
A-fucking-men.

It's commendable that they would move in this direction, but history has shown us that Microsoft has a tendency to take a step forward, then another two steps back as far as the Open Source community is concerned. Does seeking royalties for companies to use Linux in their devices ring any bells?
But seriously, who the hell uses F#?
