... is definitely the best sci-fi movie ever. If you haven't seen it, get a copy and watch it. And the best sci-fi TV series is definitely Starhyke starring Claudia Christian (the second in command from Babylon 5). You should get that and watch it too.
The real kicker is they still charge you outrageous amounts to lease the modem/router.
You're a sucker to rent the equipment. I've used Comcast cable internet for years and had my own Surfboard and wifi router since day one. Pays for itself compared to renting very quickly.
Jackasses like this are why: 4. Anyone who gives notice to quit is immediately escorted (dragged?) out by security while an HR droid packs up their desk of personal items and mails it to them.
Every semester I signed up for 8am classes all week; I worked night shift to pay for school so I showed up awake and ready. It was the classes that started after 11am that killed me.
Saving 60% is great, until the market crashes. Sometimes, crashes are intentionally designed by computer investors to take your money. Even if you invest it in real assets, like real estate, those markets crash too. Ultimately, you lose your money and never get to enjoy it.
You sound like my uncle who thought he was "investing" by buying options on margin. He ran up gains of about $8 million on paper over several years when the 2000 crash wiped him out. Then he went around all bitter that the stock market was just gambling. If you've invested by buying stock outright then unless the company goes out of business then you're still good during a downturn; just wait for it to come back. Meanwhile they might even keep paying dividends.
It is that simple, but it isn't that easy. Controlling expenses takes more effort and discipline than working more. That's why everyone isn't doing it.
They already have a skin in the game, through sales tax, gas tax, etc
Notice that this study did not take into account all the hidden taxes. Also include the corporate income taxes that are baked into the prices of goods. Making Walmart pay corporate income tax makes a great political sound bite until you realize all the low income people shopping there paid it.
The tech news part of this story is that the United computer system actually has a function for "click here to randomly select N passengers to boot off".
If only Chinese airlines would allow smartphones to be used in airplane mode. But no... you can have a laptop, tablet, all manner of electronic widgets but not a phone. I discovered this the hard way showing up to a 12 hour Hainan Airlines flight to Beijing with nothing but a Note 4 and a few spare batteries.
And some people are just plain nuts. How are we gonna go "coal rolling in an EV?
I always thought the diesel Dodge trucks that did that were poorly maintained / poorly manufactured. It would never occur to me that people were dumb enough to do it on purpose. Thanks for making today depressing.
US is #1 arms dealer to the planet, if war is happening, US is profiting.
A state of posturing for war preparedness is extremely profitable. The wrecking of economies if war actually happens is the exact opposite of profitable.
That's the only way the theater operator makes any money. Of a $12-$15 first run ticket the theater gets 25 cents and the rest goes to the studio that made the movie.
All the sightings have been at night according to the article, and cell phones take lousy pictures after sundown. Unlike Bigfoot the Tasmanian Tiger is known to have existed. So, unlikely? Yes. Impossible? No.
You mean like during the Vietnam war, with the Apollo moon shots and Skylab?
When Johnson sighed the "Great Society" legislation it was projected that the costs would be 10 billion in 2000, Compare to actual before complaining there should be plenty of money for space exploration.
radio control always land safely and without damage.
where "safely" means "unable to transmit footage of potentially horrific things that make government look bad".
and "without damage" means "more evidence to gather to aid in rounding up the pilot".
Look at it this way: "safely" does not mean properly shielded so the police operator doesn't have a gigantically increased chance of getting brain cancer.
As illustrated by the dairy operation vs the fishing operation disparity I think the main problem is having a collection of misc exemptions in the first place. Either hourly employees get overtime pay after so many hours or they don't.
It's also hugely over-rated
Clearly you haven't seen the secret gem of the franchise: The Star Wars Holiday Special. That will change your mind as to how over-rated Star Wars is.

Why don't we have colonies on the moon, as a lot of people thought in the 60s? No profit.
Startup costs. There's whopping piles of profit on the moon.
They're still around but just transitioned to a looser format; the Commonwealth is larger than the Empire ever was.
The real kicker is they still charge you outrageous amounts to lease the modem/router.

You should foresee the day the swat team kicks in your door at 3 am to shoot you for peddling kiddie porn.
Am I missing anything?

Insurance paid the bulk of my "sick" costs.
Modern insurance doesn't cover a dang thing until you've topped the deductible.

For 4000 dollars, they could have put all 4 employees on a chartered turboprop and had them in Louisville in 90 minutes.
For the amount of the resulting lawsuit or settlement they could have bought a Gulfstream to fly the 4 employees to anywhere.

Nonsense. You cannot "prove" anything with statistics
WTF; who taught you that nonsense? You can "prove" *anything* with statistics. It's just a matter of presentation.

Zero cameras are set up in places humans don't go, just by definition.
