  1. Re:Big friggin plot holes on Review: Men In Black II · · Score: 1

I thought that the deneuralization was probably layered; when he did the de-N in the basement, it only removed J's neuralization.

How about the plot hole with the video rental store? 20 years ago they were storing their data in a database, and all that information is still there?

The repeated "Nod Your Head" lyric in the refrain (sung in kind of a high background voice) kept reminding me of Weird Al's "All About the Pentiums". Perhaps it also sounds like "All About the Benjamins", but I don't know that one.

I use www.mail2web.com, which allows me to access the main mac.com mailbox from my Win98 machine at work.

Actually, this article Going Backwards 'Just Say No to H20' (Unless It's Coke's Own Brew) would contest otherwise. There is (or, at least, was) a concerted effort by the soda companies to block water drinking in restaraunts.

Beautiful. I've often thought about obtaining a FNORD license plate, so that the police couldn't read the plate number. Of course, the DMV wouldn't be able to read my request in the first place, so I had to give up the dream.

  7. noise cancellation headphones on Building Quieter Computers · · Score: 1
I've seen these in Brookstone, and I think Sharper Image as well. While I haven't purchased them to try with a computer, in the store they do a great job of cutting out the constant hum noises of the HVAC system and fluorescent lights. They should work great on a constant noise such as a computer fan.

Or, as has been said many times elsewhere, buy a Mac.

  8. recommended FTP software? on Real Networks And More Privacy Concerns · · Score: 1
Is there any (Windows) software that *doesn't* track your operations? Someone in this discussion recommended GetRight, but this is one of the Aureate/Radiate pieces of software, which similarly reports all FTP transfers back to the source.

I had been using Go!Zilla, until I read that the Aureate software was tracking me. All I want is to resume my broken downloads, and perhaps queue them.
