Care to inform me what medication would help with Asperger's? Wouldn't it be more profitable for pharma corporations if doctors came to other conclusions?

  4. Mr. Schumann, please report to room 101 for a brief chat.

  5. There is one exception to this rule: If you're a pentester team. You should NOT run a test that potentially cripples a database beyond repair on a critical production system.

Not that we ever did that. Oh, by the way, the outage yesterday was due to sunspot activity...

  6. How is this against the public image of the company? It is the public image of the company. They don't even try to hide it anymore, well, how could they?

If you can't hide anymore that you're abusing your users, why not just flaunt it? Worked for other drug dealers, too.

  7. Or it's a distraction from something else. It's like in the old joke:

Spin doctor: "We go to Iraq and kill a million Iraqis and two dentists."
    Press: "Why the two dentists?"
Spin doctor (to politician): "See? Told you nobody would ask about the Iraqis".

  8. Is it any different anywhere else? We're working our asses off in the server rooms, development groups and security groups and then we get to see what marketing and C-Levels do.

Since I saw this, I don't think Crack is the worst. Obviously it gets worse if you leave out the baking soda.

  9. Dude... I don't know how to say it but could it be that you were the target of an elaborate prank?

I mean, let's be honest, if I was asked what the initiation ceremony of some secret society was, and if I was into that kind of sausage suckling ... well ...

  10. The conspiracy nuts will go bonkers about this!

This wasn't uncommon in former Soviet East Europe too. Certain import/export papers you needed were pretty much impossible to get. You could of course request them and with a few months of processing time you'd get them... or you'd simply accept the "fine" of about 10 bucks (west money, of course, payable immediately ... yeah ... right...) and suddenly the required forms miraculously appeared, pre-stamped and approved.

Sorry, but improved detection isn't just an excuse. It's the reason. I'm reasonably old and remember my childhood, and back then I went to school with quite a few kids that would be diagnosed with certain mental conditions today, from ADHD to autism. Not the case back then. ADHD was "cured" by smacking the kids 'til they would sit still and autism was just shyness and being weird.

Maybe you're not old enough to actually know that yes, these kids existed back then, too. The difference is just that nobody gave a fuck.
