so how do i hide how many different users here visited a popular website? how can i make ALL outgoing connections have the same source address in IPv6?
it is a great obscurity feature. it can hide 2 instances of Anonymous Coward from Slashdot. more specifically it is a start to obscure discrete users. obscurity has its uses.
in a city i used to live i photographed dozens of cars making illegal left turns at an intersection where lefties were not allowed (according to a sign with a slash over a lefty pointer). they were taken at an angle clearly showing readable license plates and that they were doing a lefty. i offered the photos to the police but they said they needed the evidence of who was doing the driving because the law applied to the driver, not the car. i guess i need to introduce them to the D.C. police to get them to be more creative about applying laws and go arrest some car owners.
GPS receivers determine the position then a separate transmitter sends that position for data collection. this got called a "receiver" instead of a "monitoring device" because "GPS receivers" is a familiar term to non-techies. it's like the "DC transformers" that provide lower voltage to laptops.
