THAT is my problem. I don't mind watching "bad movies" as long as they're good escapism. I really quite enjoyed The Lone Ranger and Oblivion, but didn't get the chance to see After Earth or the last Die Hard movie. They were gone too quickly.

Movies that are of similar ilk need to either not be bunched up so much (yes, I know release dates are tied to school holidays) or allowed to run for longer.

In his experience skilled programmers with maths knowledge are hard to find in the field because most come from a chemistry background rather than a computer science background.

I suffer from domestic blindness. That means that too much information just becomes a jumble. It's not something I get over, as it's the way my brain works. So one of the first things I do to a new Windows setup is to arrange the start menu into folders of 8-12 items, and nest those folders 2-4 folders deep. That way I can always find what I'm looking for. Sure, other people think it's more complicated, but for me that works.

If Win81 allows me to something of that ilk then good. If not, then for me (and I accept that I might be in a very small minority) a configurable start folder with nested sub folders simply works best.

Thank goodness I can fall back on ClassicShell. But don't be me wrong. When there are new options that work well, I do adopt them.

True ("only" about 2/3 is burned). But just because it's not burned does not necessarily mean that it's safe for the environment. Consider the mountains of plastic we create. So the system would still be appropriate, methinks.

    • 45.2% gasoline for use in automobiles
    • 29.1% heating oil and diesel fuels
    • 20.9% other products, including those derived from petroleum for the manufacturing of chemicals, synthetic rubber, and plastics.

The two weaknesses here are monitoring, ..., and determining the cost.

How about monitoring and taxing fossil fuel extraction? If it is not possible to tax extraction then tax importation. This would make the job much simpler.

That cost would then filter through the economic system and would temporarily upset the current economic balance (which really is an imbalance if one takes into account the raping of the planet). But when economic balance has been restored, then the costs of items will more accurately reflect the true cost of those items.

Conversely, carbon that is bound (for example by crop and tree growers/farmers) could be considered forms of cleanup. Thereby possibly mitigating increased farming costs due to more expensive fuel. Also, there would be the incentive to start up carbon scrubbing businesses.
