The best solution I have implemented in my own installation was to actually modify your house's floors to have 2" x 2" x 2" channels of open space running through the entire house and every 50 feet or so you make meeting place where 3 or more channels meet to a packet mixin' device. It is best you install this before you decide on using Linolium, Hardwood, or tile floor. If you already installed the floor, then you should actually design these channels inside your wall and foot level and they should be covered by a wooded or plastic trim that covers where the floor and the drywall meet. In this case, the drywall shouldn't meet the floor, but be placed off the floor maybe 1.5 inches; you don't want the trim covering too much an area to mak it seem obvious. The channel at floor level should be most precaughtiously made to have no access into the wall because, as you will discover, nature's damndest insects, arachnids, beavers, and gerbils all find a way to chew through something to gain access to your well-insulated abode. Shitwads as yourself don't have any preference for selection, quality of software taste, and couldn't tell MS Windows XP from 256 grayscales of rotten shit, steaming with hatched fly larvae, cream of corn diahrea, bloody stool, in your Mom's ass crack;of which she mistakened your box of MS Windows XP for something she could use in absence of toilette paper. ...back when I purchased a now-retired(BullShit) video "accelerator" codenamed the "ATI 3D Rage PRO TURBO+PC2TV"
I tried running games is Windows 95 and it would constantly crash the video from time to time. The computer/software still runs during the crash, it is a chipset bug or driver bug from ATI. That same year was when I discovered RedHat Linux 5.2 and I have been writing programs in Linux ever since. I even tried that same ATI Rage Pro whatever videocard in my Linux system and decided to replace it because it exhibited the same problems in XFree86 3.3.1. My Internet access was slow back then. I made quick connections and got off the line quickly too. ATI's website didn't offer any help whatsoever and from time-to-time I mosey on over to their website and poke fun at how little it has changed.
I still can't forgive myself for purchasing that WizzBang peice of Stinking Canadian Shit of a Video Card. I shelled-out $190 for it and it had only 4MB of SGRAM. TV-OUT capability was problematic because the CRT SVGA video would squish itself from 800x600 to 320x200 when I used TV-out at the same time. I remember when I bought it at Fry's Electronics too...
It was a dreary day with my Poppa(Dad) and we were looking at all the STB(Trident Chipset) 1MB ISA video cards.
"Poppa, I want to get the ATI 3D Pro Thingy with my Birthday money."
"ok, but don't show your mother you spent that much for it."
While I grabbed it from the shelf, a man in a wheelchair appeared out of nowhere, and rolled toward me. He says to me...
I returned one of those today, kid. TV Display was blurry on my set and it was unstable something or other..."
The rest of what he said was incomprehensible and he slipped into a coma and died. I still bought it and was mighty pissed. I think ATI products cause brain-loss. Don't buy Canadian export!

Yeah, right... I've seen arabs that are official American citizens, eating hot dogs, dancing like everyone else, etc, and I've seen arabs that don't like living in America and are trying to keep hold of the lifestyle they brought with them from their ancestral home. Since when do you see any arabs in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Iran, or wherever, wasting their own precious electricity playing videogames that were made for the same Western civilizations they dislike; helping Israel, etc?
I've read alot of supporting text that points to something other than videogames. Oh and OPEC tends to follow the public opinion of the Arab empire. They're cutting oil exports and raising wholesale prices per barrel because they don't like USA's support of Israel and USA's position in bombing terrorists. You are so ignorant, stay in school kid.

Since when does the government think they can classify different TCP/IP networks? All they're going to do is attract all the hackers and terrorist organizations to eavesdrop on their "GOVNET" moreso than the "real" internet. Anyone remember reading headlines about the reason for PlayStation 2 consoles being short on supply? The conclusion to those stories were a middle-eastern country was stocking them up to engineer a cluster farm of some kind. We can all speculate... It was Syria, Saudi Arabia, or one of those other terrorist countries.
- no joke, it turned out to be true.
My theory is whether they were expecting a "GOVNET" to emerge and they'll stonk up on some cheap, high-performance computing devices to decrypt data they see in "GOVNET"... Somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 of the first released Play Station 2's went to the arab empire and they went quick!
Have you ever been in the Army? I think not. To join the military, you are given an oath to "...Protect the Constitution of the United states of America..." President Clinton dodged the draft and at his innauguration he placed his right hand on the Bible and swore the same oath. Do you actually think Clinton has the Sincerity, Dignity, and morality to honor his oath? Nobodyh said you had to be brilliant to exercise your Military power. Remember, Harry S. Truman asked Joseph Stalin whether he should use the Atomic Bomb on Japan. Where do you get off saying that Carreer Military Generals are "trigger happy" and enjoy doing shit that would anger the real Militias that exist in Montana, the ones that they ARE afraid of? Clinton picked the time of day and what to blow-up from a selection of pictures one of his correspondants shared. Clinton used 66% of the Cruise Missile supplies durring his Sadam Husein campaing at the same time as underfunding the military and not restoring the supplies he was using. Clinton was "COMMANDER IN CHEIF" and should be afraid, Coward.
How many Hijackers were involved? 15? Go ask their fellow hijackers that didn't participate in the airline kamikaze events. Ask the 50 or so "conspirators" that may have been part of the "ground crew". Go ask those people why they were justified for killing 7000 Americans. You must understand that USA is a Monarchy when it comes to elected officials who don't follow the law. Yes, from what evidence shows, Clinton ignored what the Military Generals recommended to do on a bombing campaign on what Clinton himself thought was one of Sadam Huseins' bio-warfare manufacturer. Yo uare asking the wrong person what is justified for 7000 American deaths. You are the stupid shit. You are trying to make sense of terrorism. Stop asking stupid questions about terrorism and understand that killing people for any reason they can think is just part of terrorism.
It is one thing to know how to write your resume and plagiarize other people's writings. It is another thing to know how to create your own ideas based on your own observations aka scientific process. People keep substituting basic research skills for scientific observations. Whoever wrote the following was verry creative, I however will most-likely get modded-up for posting it. I didn't write the following, but it is an interesting not on how a person generally doesn't need creative writing skills when someone else has already done the work for you... for example, a peom about Osama Bin Laden that I received in eMail. Now I don't need to write it because it covers what I would've written, ie I am plagiarising this poet's work:
Osama Bin Laden, your time is short;
We won't allow you to have your day in court.
Why are you hiding if it was "In God's name?"
Only those who hide have the fear and the shame.
I have a question, about your theory and laws;
How come you never "Die for the cause?"
Is it because you're a coward who counts on others?
Well here in America, we stand by our Brothers!
As is usual, you failed in your mission;
If you expected pure chaos, you can keep on wishing!
Americans are now focused and stronger than ever;
Snuffing you and others like you has become our next endeavor.
What you tried to kill, it doesn't live in our walls;
It's not in buildings or in the shopping malls.
If all of our structures came crashing down;
It would still be there, safe and sound.
Because pride and courage CANNOT be destroyed;
Even if the towers seem to leave a deep void.
We'll band together and fill all the holes
We'll bury our dead and God bless their souls.
But then ALL of our energy will focus on you;
And you'll sure feel the wrath of the Red, White and Blue.
There will be a million more that doesn't like America. There is a reason people don't like the USA. Take Clinton's 8 previous 8-year term in office. Think of the Monica Lewinsky problem he had where was running a middle-east bomb campaign WITHOUT ACTUAL GUIDANCE, HELP, AND SUPPORT FROM THE MILITARY GENERALS THAT SPECIALIAZE IN PLANNING SUCH. Think of the pharmaceutical factory he bombed; 20+ people died from his idiotic actions. Think of the men in those families. Can you say their new goal is to blow the SHIT out of America? POISON in America's Aqueducts? Crop dusting us with Anthrax? Shit man, the indians were shammed just as much from your idiots running the American government. Be fucking afraid of the people given little respect to in the past. They're not taking any apologies now; your idea was to apologize.
From what I know, all the utilities for setting user and group quotas, on a Linux system, are built around the Ext2 filesystem. As a simple, educated guess, that's way RedHat prefers Ext3; because there is less work on their part in implementing quota support. I know for a fact that IBM's ReiserFS doesn't support quota and has no utilities to configure this. Reiser is planning this in the future, but know date has been released on its release. As for SGI's XFS, I have no experience, or idea, of how XFS works. I never got around reading the databooks. I heard a rumor from an AC that it supports quota, but I can only speculate on a rumor which is not worth flapping any more keystrokes over IMHO.
Slashdot didn't mention anything about Ext3 possibly because it is Ext2 with journalling; not much to talk about maybe? It may be less-featured, generic, compared with ReiserFS and XFS.
I upgraded from a Pentium 150MHz system/w Win95 to a Dual Pentium Pro 200MHz 256KB cache system/w 512MB RAM, UltraWide Quantum SCSI hdd(s), and Linux. The only problem I ever heard of the Cyrix CPUs having was in their 486 product line and their?System BUS/chipset? The problem with the P54/P54C/P55 Intel CPUs, which the actual Pentium 150 was classified, is they all had the "f0 0f bug" This was a problem in alot of DOS programs. I loved DOS because it simply ran Applications without any security.
That was Microsoft's downfall; security. eMail clients would execute binary code that a hacker could send you and commonly they made your system "experience" the "f0 0f bug." Linux covered this bug like Japanese on Rice. The Cyrix company, from what I remember, was purchased by IDT; the same people who made the "WinChip." Cyrix !always! never compared at all to AMD and Intel. Everyone said they were low power and it showed with application performance;50% performance of any "equivalent" AMD or Intel CPU.
IDT has been evolving their "WinChip" for the past 2.5 years and it has a good FPU and is low power from what they say. I had an IDT Winchip2 200MHz CPU and it was respectable, but doesn't compare with my Pentium Pro system. Nothing can match the Pentium Pro's FPU performance. I remember reading benchmarks of IBM's Cyrix M2 CPUs comparing with Pentium Pro CPUs, but the Level 2 cache would overheat and they had a mess of recall orders on their hands. I think I remember that IBM owned/bought Cyrix, then sold the Cyrix division to IDT? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
This is a good thing. In my perspective, this may be a trailblazing effort for consumers to not purchase CPUs based on their MHz rating. Apple Macintosh G? processors will definitely benefit if they follow AMD's lead. That is one of the reasons why Apple doesn't have a market for ignorant consumers. Everybody knows the bigger the number, the better it is; not with some devices, which account for most of Apple's. Consumers must get smarter in purchasing a computer system. They should have access to performance benchmarks of each CPU, not just be told that XXX CPU is XXX MHz faster than this "Other" CPU. It is like someone comparing a Ford F350 Diesel with John Carmack's Lambourghini in a race to tow a 4,500 lb. trailered boat. AMD was doing just that for years on end with their K6-2 processors. They claimed that an equivalently MHz-rated K6-2 CPU would always be 100MHz to 200MHz faster than an equivalently rated Pentium. What they didn't tell everyone was their CPU's FPU was trash compared to the equivalent Pentium's FPU.
I think this is a way for AMD to burry some of its earlier marketing methods of comparing itself with Intel's CPUs and finaly hoisting their fame with courage by not having to compare themselves with Intel anymore. AMD has been the "Bargain-barrel" CPU for most of its lifetime until the past 1.5 years.
All I can say is faster is not generaly better. Both Intel and AMD have been claiming their CPUs are lower-power than eachothers and even so, they take advantage of the lower power transistors and use more. It's a wash because the CPUs consume more power than their predecessors. We need a good, low-power CPU. Applications don't take advantage of the processing power that today's CPUs have to offer. When will we see true low-power computers? When AMD and Intel stop competing over RAW power, we will see more useful, portable computers.
this feature has been around for many, many years and with similar setup and ease of use. Goto freshmeat.net and look for "amd" which is the auto-mount daemon. It is more stable than supermount if you are into the command-line(console) thing. If you mount or umount a drive when being used by supermount; it'll freak out and act weird. "amd" works by you easily accessing/auto/cdrom or/auto/zip instead of mounting/mnt/cdrom or/mnt/zip and reading from within the/mnt directory which is what supermount does.
I am realy stoked at the 2.4.9 linux kernel release. On my system, originally LFS with kernel 2.4.3, the kernel always hung when I used my SCSI Kenwood TrueX 52X Ultra CDROM drive on my integrated AIC 7880 SCSI Host(built-in AHA2440 UltraWide). It'll detect my two Quantum Atlas harddrives and at the time it detects the CDROM it just says it found CDROM sr0 and it gets a bus timeout of some kind. Linux kernel 2.0.35 or rather the 2.0 series of kernels amazingly have no problem with detecting my system configuration. The 2.2 kernel and the early 2.4 kernel has problems with it. Might I add this is only a problem with the Adaptect aic 788x driver/module. Other SCSI controllers worked find with this drive and now I can put everything back on the integrated scsi and get back my PCI clot. Sad to say, I relented to installing MS Windows95 on a separate, but temporary, 200MB partition and MS Windows didn't have a problem from the start. I never tried using the 2.4.3 kernel and a 2.0.36 AIC 7880 driver and I doubt it would've worked when and if I tried. I don't experiment with this system of mine. It takes 3 minutes for it to boot and I like linux because I don't have to reboot it when I someone walks into my office and sneezes or yells "Dohnut"! Linux 2.4.9 made my day. Thanks Linus and all you elite hax0rz.
It's all about the software... Win2k can stay up and IDLE as long as you want it to. Sure, even my Win95 system was able to stay up and running with a protection error(BSOD) for over 3 weeks. I remember I was off on vacation, with my laptop, and a week into the vacation I wasn't able to remotely access data. When I got back to the office, there it was, Windows 95 up and running, as blue as a beaten dog. Sure MS Windows can run for more than a month...but it'll do NOTHING. Linux is awesome!
What is more viable than a simple operating system that is free, stable, fast, and competitive? I bet chickens to chicks that you are the reason why Microsoft Windows is Soooooo fast and Soooooo stable! The question is not what Windows can do, but what can Linux do for you. You have the chance of owning your own operating system and you'ld rather choose a buggy, virus-prone, unstable alternative. What does that say other than you have buttered toast for brains? IBM is supporting Linux and I think it would be an excellent step for IBM to bail-out Loki and make a stable move into being the distributer and developer of LINUX-based entertainment. They have nothing to lose. Loki is up for sale at CLEARANCE PRICE! WooHoo I'm interested in IBM now!

BUY AMERICAN!
- no joke, it turned out to be true.
My theory is whether they were expecting a "GOVNET" to emerge and they'll stonk up on some cheap, high-performance computing devices to decrypt data they see in "GOVNET" ... Or do you think they love Western life-style so much to buy all that *shit* retail.
Osama Bin Laden, your time is short;
We won't allow you to have your day in court.
Why are you hiding if it was "In God's name?"
Only those who hide have the fear and the shame.
I have a question, about your theory and laws;
How come you never "Die for the cause?"
Is it because you're a coward who counts on others?
Well here in America, we stand by our Brothers!
As is usual, you failed in your mission;
If you expected pure chaos, you can keep on wishing!
Americans are now focused and stronger than ever;
Snuffing you and others like you has become our next endeavor.
What you tried to kill, it doesn't live in our walls;
It's not in buildings or in the shopping malls.
If all of our structures came crashing down;
It would still be there, safe and sound.
Because pride and courage CANNOT be destroyed;
Even if the towers seem to leave a deep void.
We'll band together and fill all the holes
We'll bury our dead and God bless their souls.
But then ALL of our energy will focus on you;
And you'll sure feel the wrath of the Red, White and Blue.
So slither and hide like a snake in the grass;
Because America's coming to KICK YOUR ASS!!!
Nice poem, eh?
Name one Idian that doesn't like Islam...
Where do I insert my coin? I wanna play tech whore too. uhm that didn't sound right...
I upgraded from a Pentium 150MHz system /w Win95 to a Dual Pentium Pro 200MHz 256KB cache system /w 512MB RAM, UltraWide Quantum SCSI hdd(s), and Linux.
"amd" works by you easily accessing /auto/cdrom or /auto/zip instead of mounting /mnt/cdrom or /mnt/zip and reading from within the /mnt directory which is what supermount does.
NRAdude: I'll take USA government perversions for 100, Jon.
Jon:This scientist was jailed for contributing software that decrypted Adobe's eBook softwre format and was immediatley jailed; ignoring his first ammendment right...
NRAdude: Who is Dmitri Sklyarov?
Jon: Correct...
NRAdude: I'll take Software that Sucks for 666, Jon.
Jon: Following the arrest, postponment of civil rights, and immediate jailing of Dmitri Sklyarov, Adobe systems again stated that he violated copyright law by undermined Adobe's eBook software. What is encryption?
NRAdude:Would you please restate the question in the form of an answer, Jon?
Jon:Encryption is the act of writing software data in a form that is not immediately readable by others.
NRAdude:In Dmitri Sklyarov's perspective, the software wasn't encrypted. What is Software that sucks?
Jon:Correct...
NRAdude:I'll take Hot Greasy Poo in a Flaming lunchbag for 100, Jon
Jon:Oh shit, money out of my pocket... ahemm...That's our Daily-Double! How much are you willing to wager?
NRAdude:I'll wager $450,000,000, Jon
Jon: *cry* What are the ingredients of a civil war?
NRAdude: 1)Someone's civil rights get violated by the government, 2)the government doesn't correct itself on the matter of violating the civil rights, 3)the government demonstrates corruption by the prior, 4)the citizens and offendees hammer the government officials into smoldering ashes. 5)a monument is created out of the skulls of the government officials that perpetrated the acts of violating the citizens and offendees. 6.66)Adobe gets away scott-free, but will have to brave many future DOS attacks.
Jon:/b>Correct...here's your 450,000,000 in worthless paper money...and here are some parting gifts...
