Which means you have to go to Nvidia's site and download them. The issue is Nvidia now granted I use the drivers and they work fine and I have accepted that they will not open them but someone could still make debs of the drivers (and I'm sure would and that they would be put in non-free or just on another apt mirror) but because of Nvidia they can't. And while I kind of undrstand why they don't open the drivers all the way I really don't understand why you can only download from them.

Becuase Utah has many problems above and beyond drinking laws. First I have no idea where this myth that Utah has a low cost of living came from but it is not true. Also taxes tend to be very high and wages much lower than other spots that have the same cost of living. And then there are the Mormons. In other places in the country that I have lived I have really liked many of my fellow Mormons and in fact enjoyed going to chruch. Here in Utah most of them tend to be aholes. In short people not coming to Utah has nothing to do with liquor laws but more to do with the fact that on many other levels it sucks.

I seem to remember Carmack saying that Q3 could have done the same thing but they wanted to release a version to be able to track the GNU/Linux adoption. IMHO this was a mistake put it all in one box and make and put a install script on the net (Just like UT has done.) No fuss no muss no overhead added and we GNU/Linux gamers don't have to pay through the nose. This is one of the reasons why I have and enjoy UT and only have the demo for Q3.
