    If you want something done inefficiently, badly, at high cost and overly influenced by politics, have the government do it. It seems like a good idea - share intelligence information between different agencies at the local level, in a way that was impossible previously. But the government fucked it up. I'm sure this country could be run at a fraction of the cost if it weren't for the government. :)

    Yea, just look at how much better the private contractors do at tasks like, say, protecting nuclear facilities from geriatric clergy...

    Defense in depth, quite a bit of depth for something this important.... and they got thru ... drum roll.... one fence....

    Well, according to TFA, they not only made it through not one but three fences, they never would have been noticed had they not banged on the side of the main facility with a hammer ( after taking time to hang a couple banners, splash some fake blood and Bible verses about).

    The real question I have is, why would anyone, yourself included, be an apologist for what is quite obviously (even to the casual observer) a gross breach of what should be one of the most secure facilities in the world?

    Not just breached, mind you - breached by a handful of damn senior citizens. If 3 old folks with bolt cutters can make it from the perimeter fence to the facility walls, how far do you think a well-trained team of professional criminals would get?

    Careful, this varies by state.

    I meant that as a minimum. Is there a state that does not allow employers to ask about past convictions? That would be a cool place - I say this as a non-felon who's tired of seeing friends who can't seem to find half-decent employment due to decades old pot convictions.

    Electric vehicles are vary useful, but you have to get past the moronic safety requirements and the "I need a truck" retardation that most american drivers have. a vehicle the size of a Smart Car but 3/4 the width would be perfect. 1 seat, room for some baggage, and sleek enough to do 75mph without much drag. You can EASILY make this a 200 mile range electric car with a fast recharge from 110VAC or solar.

    Yea! What sort of inbred redneck ever needs to carry more than their own ass and an overnight bag! Fucking savages!

    And you can make them safe in case you have to tangle with a idiot in a SUV... a lot of people dont have the IQ to realize that.... they dont have all the really stupid and heavy safety devices required in the USA.. what they think they know is incredibly wrong and inaccurate... Looking at what morons out there believe...

    2 points:
    1 - you're not going to garner a lot of support for your cause when you use terms like "morons" and "Don't have the IQ" to refer to anyone and everyone who doesn't march in lock-step with your apparently militant position.
    2 - If you're going to waste your time with a good 2 paragraph rant about how so many people are just oh-so much dumber than yourself, you may want to learn proper English. I.e., "you're" = "you are," "don't" has an apostrophe, words that start with vowel sounds are prefaced with "an," not "a," and the first word in a sentence is always capitalized.

    Note how I was able to both refute your rant and call you out on your own ignorance, without once resorting to name calling. FYI, this is how you make an effective argument.

    Of course a buddy or volunteer network of recharged battery swap points would *never* work. Nor would having recharge coils in / under parking lots, service stations, ... anywhere cars stop at for a while. And, what advantage can there be for owning your source. Stupid, right? Not to mention the absolute absence of business opportunities and burocratic expansion inherent, I mean, absent from certification, normatization, insurance, service ... yeah. Bad Idea.

    Yea, and who do you think will be paying for all those fancy, expensive infrastructure upgrades that only a small handful of people will benefit from?

    If you answered, "everybody else," congrats, you win. Your prize? Understanding why what you suggest is complete fantasy.

    OK, so the moral is, A) don't take your self-assembled gun to a public range (at least, not until you're sure they're functioning properly), and B) if someone tells you you should do something illegal/potentially illegal with a gun, ignore and/or kick the living shit out of them.

    Employers can ask anything they want, except if it involved membership in a protected class. You are not legally required to answer honestly, but they can fire you at any time for any dishonesty on the job application, no matter how inconsequential.

    Printers tend to shut down when they detect currency. Often you need to call a technician to come reset the printer.

    Sure. You SAY it's not illegal. How confident are you in that? Are you willing to go to jail to get the opportunity to prove it?

    I don't say it's not ilegal, 18 U.S.C. 922(o) and (r), 26 U.S.C. 5822, 27 CFR 478.39, 479.62 and 479.105 does.

    Gun control law is illogical, inconsistent, and subject to huge penalties and stigmas (do you want 'arrested on weapons charges, 2012' on your resume, even if you are cleared?).

    There's a reason companys like eBay and craigslist shy away from allowing even very obviously legal items--even gun accesories like holsters--to be traded on their sites--our lords at the ATF have no sense of humor.

    I doubt very much this is any move against Cody Wilson on a censorship/anti-gunownership level. Far more likely Stratasys went "holy crap someone could sue the living daylights out of us for making guns without a license"

    Think about how litigation happy we are in the US - imagine someone using a 3D printer to print something dangerous, and getting hurt. Especially imagine if it's a little kid. It doesn't matter that the printer manufacturer in a logical, sane world is clearly not responsible - they'd be utterly destroyed in the current court climate. This probably hit Stratasys in the face and their legal team said "FULL STOP GUYS"

    Yea, like how every time someone gets shot and killed during a criminal action, another gun manufacturer goes under due to being sued as an accessory to the crime.

    Or, you know, you're obviously clueless, and should avoid speaking on topics you know nothing about.

    They're only trying to manufacture the lower receiver; everything else (barrel, bolt, chamber, whatever) is just a "gun part" that you can buy off the Internet or whatever easily.

    Assuming you're talking about the contest, that is incorrect - the idea is to have a 100% printed gun that can fire at least 1 round of .22 caliber ammo without catastrophic failure.

    No, this is not "censorship". This is Toyota reclaiming your car because you drove to a bar and they [Toyota] don't have a liquor license.

    Not even close. More like Toyota voiding the lease and demanding the car back because the lease says "no entering car races" and you publicly state you're entering a car race with your leased Toyota.

    Still not quite right; more like, Toyota repossesses your car because you say you want to enter it in a race, and Toyota is under the impression that a certain type of license you don't posses is legally required for said race, even though there is no such licensing requirement.

    If you are leasing a color copier or press. They will pull the copier if your using it to print counterfet money. This is not censorship at all.

    Slight problem with your analogy: Counterfeiting money is illegal, whereas manufacturing firearms for personal use (i.e. not for sale) is not.

    America orchestrated 9-11 in order to invade the middle east with public support.
    America knew of the Pearl Harbor attack but did nothing knowing we could then drop the bomb with public support.
    Israel owns America.

    Hmm, actually that's a pretty good order of probability as it stands, although I'd ditch the next-to-last entry, considering that nuclear weapons weren't invented until a good 4-5 years after the Japanese ambush at PH.

    Side note: Two things about HAARP:
    1) 10 years ago, the mere mention of HAARP would garner a person odd stares and accusations of being "tin-foil hat crazy." Flash forward to today, and you can take a guided tour of the facility. The moral? Maybe that "tin-foil hat crazy" ideas aren't all that crazy after all.

    2) If HAARP has no military application, why does the military fund its operation?
