You are not stuck with anything. Nobody wants to be inconvenienced with having to pay attention and seeking suitable candidates. The non voter is the biggest voting block there is. If they settled on somebody, we could be rid of the republicans and democrats for good. All you need to do is tune out the bullshit coming from the carny hucksters that are winning today. That alone will reduce the value of the campaign dollar to zero immediately, and would settle this silliness over 'Citizens United'.

Well, under the law, things are different. But the law only serves the money that bought it. Otherwise you are just full of it, speaking up for rent collectors and speculators. You are not being displaced.

Ideas are not physical things. They are smoke and light. Once you release them, they is no longer exclusively yours, aside from the possession of your copies. The taking of real, physical property involves real, involuntary displacement or separation.

Cars from the 60's-70's suck big time.

That is just not so! A car you can fix with a hammer and screwdriver is perfect, and if you know which end of the screwdriver to hit, your car would always be in tip-top condition. And I bet you can still find a 30 dollar alternator out there, and regular sealed beam headlamps for around 5 or 10, maybe?

Ain't gonna happen. The average user will prefer it that way. It will be more convenient for them. What might happen is that people will demand that all costs, repair, insurance, registration, etc be included in the monthly payments. We don't own anything anymore, not even our bodies. Civil forfeiture and common medical practice saw to that. The government/repo man can come and take what they want, and resistance will be most feeble at best.

Precisely my point. All those cases should be reversed. The law is explicit and precise. They can be wrong, like when they upheld the property rights of slave owners.

You can promise anything. If you want the law to reflect something else you need to put it in writing, in the constitution. The 1st Amendment codifies free speech into law. The triggerman is responsible for his actions. He alone make the choice to take the money and pull the trigger. What you are offering up is no different than the *I was just following orders* routine.
