    You mean school should more resemble the prison the kids will end up in? Maybe the district should use prisoner transfer buses also. You know get the kids all familiarized and stuff. The hell with trailers, let's use shipping containers. That school to prison pipeline is getting mighty fat.

    There is no getting out of this by voting.

    Bullshit. There is no rule requiring anybody to vote for the guy with the most money. The system only only appears "rigged" because people are too lazy to think for themselves and always wait for mass media to spoon feed them. They are getting what they deserve for it. I have no sympathy at all, only pity.

    Well, the post is directed at the 98.3% that do.. It really doesn't matter why. They are aiding and abetting criminals. The kind of power they enjoy is impossible to acquire without lying, cheating, stealing, and otherwise breaking the law. It cannot be done. And the same goes outside of government.

    Yes, I am aware the law says it's illegal. But that is attacking the problem from exactly the wrong angle. The value of the bribe is determined by the person taking it. Really, only he should be punished. But in reality, bribery is highly rewarded on both sides. The law seems to be only relevant as a weapon of blackmail to ensure full cooperation. But no matter how you look at it, the taker is the offender.

    Powerful politicians have a lot to hide, from the public, and from their spouses/mistresses. Blackmail is probably the prime motivator in politics. It's just the nature of the business.

    Bogus down mod... You are correct. It is not the lobbyist's fault when the politician takes the bait. However, don't single out the democrats. Their tag team partner republicans are in it over their heads also.

    It is the voters that helped kill patent 'reform' by reelecting politicians who take crooked money.

    Not really. That war was just to change ownership of the corporation, or more correctly the local franchise, not to diminish it in any way. After that it was business as usual, snuffing out insurrection during the long march westward, and southward, all the way around until the Navy docked back in New York.

    No, that's not right. The crime is accepting the bribe, not offering it. You should elect people who are capable of resisting temptation. And let them know you are watching them closely.

    They have to ignore it. Otherwise they would feel stupid for reelecting them, and people don't like to be made to feel dumb.

    You obviously don't work in politics... And yes it does attract the brightest. We only see the 5 or 10 percent who get caught.
