I think that whats more important than fixing battle.net code so people cant cheat is to fix the %^*#ing code so we can use IPCHAINS/IPMASQ and play with mutiple people from behind the IPCHAINS server (in the same game that is).Starcraft and Linux works!!
Please explain the meaning of troll for me. I thought troll was for people that lpaced spam or something. Is there a place on slashdot that explains the ratings? My post wasn't a troll.
Python is awesome. This site is powered by python. I feel that python is a powerful alternative to perl(actually I like it better than perl but I dont want you all yelling at me).
The lawyer seeems really smart. I didn't know that the linking think was still an issue, because there are literally thousands of links or places to download. This guy seems to have done his research. Hopefully he'll be able to help 2600 out on this. For example, all the decss code here.
I think that the release of MAC OS X is going to stir up the media a lot when it is released. Its great that a company is taking an open source project and using it for their commercial software. If things turn out right, peolpe could realize the potential of open source software. Python, IPMASQ, starcraft
What would creat a faster system? A basic processor with huge amounts of RAM or some basic RAM with a blazing processor? I would think that the faster RAM is better. RAM technology has been growing pretty fast, but I don't think its going fast enough to keep up with the processors. And although RAM is much cheaper these days, it still costs too much for poor people like me. I've noticed that there have been a lot of RAM technologies that have failed such as the bubble RAM(is that what its called). I feel that the RAM market would be bigger if many RAM technologies were compatible. What do you guys think? Gnutella, python, starcraft linux, IPMASQ
All Linux users please be patient. Linux will soon surpass Windows in gaming. But Linux's advancement has priorities. Before Linux goes into gaming, it needs to work on some other aspects of the OS. I don't even use windows anymore ofr gaming. I get my fix with the quake series, Starcarft on Linux, and Unreal tournament. The graphics aren't really that bad considering how long windoze has had video drivers.
There seems to be a lot of viruses coming out these days. How immune are the Linux/Unix systems and what can we do to prevent these kind of viruses from causing us trouble? How would the current viruses need to be configured to bother us? Starcraft Linux, IPMASQ, Gnutella
The answer isn't that obvious. If you use Microsoft, then the "OS half speed every 18 month problem" is yours. Not all OSs become slower. The 2.2.14 kernel was actually going a little faster than the past couple of stable kernel releases. Many people still use older OSs. I'm sorry, I put my question in the wrong words, it should have been "What justifiable processes can the average home users do with this new chip with their current apps and OSs to help them be more productive?"Its just a general discussion topic..
Chips are getting real fsat these days. Could someone tell me some justifiable reasons for home users to have this much speed? (I know its great to have speed, but I just want to know what other people's reasons are)starcraflinux!!
If it is offtopic, where else on slashdot can he post it where other people of the slashdot community can read it. You don't think that salshdot would actually post it after recieving it, do you?
With these finger scanners you could creat better login facilities. Type in usernames, password, and input fingerprints. That would help to increase security. I would like to here other idead on whaqt you could use this for.
Hopefully some good hackers will create some software for psx2 so we can use it as an mp3 player and vcd player among other things. Any Linux hackers up for the challenge? That will piss Sony off!

Is this the same chip that Linus is part of?
It seems like NASA has a lot of projects these days. When was the last time they completed a mission sucessfully? Linux DVD HOWTO
Its great to see Linux taking the use of more powerful jobs. Watch out MS

opps! the link is toy.eyep.net
Im glad voodoo is delaying their card to wait for higher quality. Maybe that means that the Linux drives will ship at the same time.

Sorry, while we are on the subject of IO, what is IO? And where is it for all those non-space kinda people. Thanks
I can search at least 5 terabytes everytime I use Gnutella, so I think the Gnutella has a lot more space to search than Napster.

Not exactly on Linux, but try it, it works. Starcraft on Linux at starcraftlinux.eyep.net
Maybe now with higher speeds like that, you can visit the Starcraft Linux page faster thatn before. Hooray for technology.
dont mess with lesbian gamers! They will kick your ass!
