Not really. Why do you think there has been so much effort put into making it "politically incorrect" to deny mankind's role in climate change. The leading scientists of the AGW bandwagon charged full steam ahead into the political arena to make sure that any opposition was treated poorly.

slick7, are you claiming that Pons and Fleischman actually did produce cold-fusion but were smeared because no has been able to reproduce their results?

My college physics teacher was the third member of that team. He was my teacher shortly (a year or so) after Pons and Fleischman published. He asked to have his name removed before they published because they, themselves, were unable to reproduce their results so he was certain that something had contaminated the environment and did not want to publish knowing that they could not reproduce it. His last name was Jones but I can't remember his first name. He taught at BYU.

What insects have become different insects or no longer are insects after some number of generations? Showing that a group of insects developed a resistance to a poison over time is nowhere near the same thing as showing an insect having become a completely different life-form. A mechanical equivalent of that would be proving that I built a 747 in my backyard by showing you that i can form some clay into an almost-sphere.

Nope. One of the fundamental rules is that no Congress can tie the hands of a future congress. Another way of stating this is that it is impossible to pass a law that cannot be altered or undone. If that were possible, then the Republicans during the Bush years could have passed a law stating that no more laws could be passed and then we wouldn't be arguing about Obamacare. Even the Constitution can be altered. This means that just because Congress passes a law that creates a new agency and states that existing agencies will hire more employees to enforce that law does not mean that the next Congress has to provide the funding. That is exactly one of the reasons why the budget has to be redone every year.

Salmonella outbreak was the result of the shutdown? Really? What about the listeria outbreak of 2011? The government was fully functioning (as much as it ever is) back then and it still happened. You need way more evidence than "an outbreak happened" before you can blame it on the shutdown. That one killed 33 people. The salmonella one, zero. Conclusion: food-born illness outbreaks are more lethal when food inspectors are on the job. That makes more sense than your idiotic claim about the salmonella.

Because the hidden costs are kept low because market forces don't allow runaway spending and runaway insurance premium increases. The government running things removes the incentive to keep the increase as low as possible (cause only as much pain as the customer will stand for). Government will cause as much pain as they want. And if the costs do start going up the solution will simply be to raise the debt ceiling again and let our great-great-grandchildren worry about it.

There are three "Gods": God, the Father; His Son, Jesus Christ; and the Holy Ghost. The first two have bodies, the last one does not. The Bible is fairly plain about this. For instance, when Christ was baptized in the River Jordan by John the Baptist, He was in the river while the Father spoke from the heavens and the Holy Ghost appeared such that people described Him "like a dove." See. Three separate beings. They act with a single purpose like how a husband and wife should.
