What was the last time Fidel appeared in public or talked about something new? I have seen him blog, appearing with other people in Cuba, in his sports clothing, in some recording with no audio,he doesn't attend international conferences,... In the meantime Cuba has now relationship with the Vatican and has lifted some restrictions with the US. Since 2 years or more I think we have no proof he is alive. /conspirationmode Please someone point me to some resource where he talks about the BP oil spill, or some sports competition, or where he is with a non Cuban leader.

If they are wrong, and there turns out to be a judgement day they will spend eternity burning in hell.

I think there is good in following some basic principles and values. These are universal and do not belong in exclusive to any religion. (Do you think You shall not kill is Christian-only?) As long as religion is viewed as a way to improve oneself with these values and benefit society I have nothing against it. But when you use it to alienate and scare others... well, it is sad. Do you read the Bible as a history book? Congratulations ,you are an integrist.

Fair enough. I have not a lot of confidence, to say the least, in any government after some historial facts like that of Guatemala (every country has its own pearls -and time), but I agree it is not the best fit fot Afghanistan. When I see the stories about psyops and similar intelligence groups http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychological_Operations_(United_States) I wonder if there are more hidden pearls. I have to stop referencing wikipedia each time ;-P

The notion that the US is behind the Taliban is, at best, a very loose interpretation.

To me it is a very basic strategy. 1. give power to the enemy of your enemy with weapons until there are no enemies. 2. When they have won, you exterminate them. This way you are saving the people from the attrocities they did, thus appearing as "good". 3. Profit!!

How do you think Hussein got into power? Oh wait we helped him get into power...

I guess the case of South America is difficult to say so... It is so blatantly obvious.

However, the notion that the US put Saddam in to power is absurd.

The public (and staged) execution of Saddam matches number 2 (see profit scheme) to me.

I agree. But, the process of patenting the invention is so cumbersome that most of the small business wont be able to afford it and the big corps wont have a problem at all with long bureaucratic processes. In the end I am not sure if the innovation it protects is of any use to small businesses.

many killer applications are written in them (like Blender, for example!).

I think, not really sure, that Blender is written in C and only the scripting part uses python.
