    FORTRAN is till used and classic MIDI still has its fans -current loop is very good for electrically noisy environments as found on stage.

    You obviously haven't worked with people who are world leaders in their field they are not going to take advice from some commercial web dev on code.

    Though back in the day I did make one guys code a bit more user friendly (his origioal comment was I dont need any prompts to remind me what i need to type ) as we had scaled to 1:1 models and as one single run of the rig could cost £20k in materiel's.

    Um if your a poor black kid in the french slum areas you would not see much difference apart from American cops being a lot less violent and in the US their is at least some relisation that racist stop and search is a bad thing in mainland europe much less so.

    What sentence do you think the courts in france would have handed down for leaking state secrets probably a lot more than 3 years.

    Yeah when I worked for an agency we had a few "drupal" and "joomla" sites that where very poor it got to the point that some of my team refused to work on them (basic updating using the back office tool not coding). They where afraid something woudl break after they did a trivial content edit and they woudl get blamed.

    yeah that is how I started at a world leading Rnd organization was told to get a book from company library and teach my self FORTRAN (BTW I was a high school leaver) I would expect any CS graduate to be able to do that - either that or I am a 10x programmer and didn't realize it.

    have you any idea how much it woudl cost to port it to cludgy C++ (which lacks a lot of things needed for scientific computing) you then have to re-qualify All of your models which is both time and resource intensive.
