    As I recall a senior member of the BSI telling me when I was working on a research project that went towards the development of BS 5750 AKA ISO 9000. Sounds like Mr Kakal doesn't really understand either IT or Production engineering

    And it can be hard to get of the vocational track in some European countries in the past it was almost impossible to start on the vocational track and end up as a CENG or PE.

    Yes when I left school in the UK there was still just a vocational track - now with the emphasis in degrees the cohort that woudl have done Apprenticeships and Technicians now go to university - leaving a much less bright group to recruit from.

    Yes I remember doing the BA London to Edinburgh route for BT a few times just walk up to the desk plonk your card down a quick beer and walk from the lounge/bar to plane and 40 min later in Edinburgh -probably not as easy to do these days

    yes but its the cost of insurance will they enforce a general pool so the evey one pays for pooled risk and those with rare conditions don't get priced out of the market

    10 Mill is not a lot I know on large company that spent £1,000,000 redeveloping an existing system in Oracle because Oracle was corporate standard and because some one was playing politics going for promotion and needed to have run a project of that size to tick the boxes.

    um the EU has been expanding adding former WP states like crazy there are tons of good Polish developers working in the EU now and for Berlin based startups a lot of Poles will speak German as a bonus.

    Yes Holland or the UK are very welcoming to start ups and and you effectively employ people on trial for the first year or so in the UK and Holland

    Which happens in the EU many countries have dual limits the lower limit is a slap on the wrist fine and don't do it again you naughty boy - In the UK with a single higher limit its automatic ban at least.

    A slightly higher limit with high penalties is probably better in the long run.

    But I recently in the UK I saw a local agency to me that had for a job for an experienced groundworker aka a navvy that was next to an advert for a php programer the navvys job paid more than the Php Dev ;-)

  21. Yes last year I had to work on an api that used the current hotness json plus callbacks but didn't imperilment a proper message Q so I had to build that from scratch to a slightly flaky api - whey they didn't use a proven Asynchronous MQ system I don't know.

    Works ok in the UK we haven't had any "hanging chad" or similar problems and you don't have to "resgister" with the state which party you support.
