    They are also alienating their core high margin markets eg Music and Media have been worried for a long time now that Apple will throw them under the bus in the pursuit of the lower margin consumer market.

    As the Uk experience with PPI and extended warranties shows. You cant watch daytime tv in teh UK with out seeing loads of adds for lawyers trying to get people to claim that they where misold extended warranties and PPI insurance .

    er do you even know what PIC's are? IE a Harvard architecture with tiny amounts of memory is not going to be programmed vial the bloated C++ Linux tool chain most people use the PIC assembler there are hyper cut down versions of HLL to help with this if you cant hack assembly language.

    Having your own currency would help with restructuring in a recession - being stuck with the euro which is run to benefit France and Germany means you cant use devaluation to get out of the hole.

    Having your econony changed to fit into the German a model isn't going to be nice just ask the Greeks and Cypriots how that is turning out for them.

    Yes i recall my high school chemistry teacher telling us about the dangers of ammonia based compounds how a farmer tried to remove an old pile of fertilizer with a 1/4 stick of dynamite and flattened his farm.

    Sewers don't have cabs and plant installed in the central office like telcos do they? Sewers are really dumb devices mostly working by gravity and jointing pipes is a lot simpler than working with fibre.

    Wargamers that do large battles and want to get exactly the right version of Hummer (at the right scale) for a given unit - four example my club did a large D Day game and there was £4-5ks worth of models on the table.

    Yes all PR systems are complex when compared to FPTP - Iceland uses the D'Hondt method. The problem you have with PR is you get fringe "nut job" or extremist parties holding the balance of power more often EG golden dawn in Greece.

    PL/1 yay I worked on a system in the 80's the used PL1 (and FORTRAN) on PR1ME do do map reduce for the billing system used for dialcom systems in the UK
