Yes, thats exactly what it is. Todays world has new tools for propaganda apart from newsspin. This game portrays the Syrian fight against terror in simplistic black and white just like most mainstream media likes to show it. However, nothing in this world is as simple as that. What you will not see in that game is: * leading Syrian terrorist group Jabhat al-Nusra (categorised so by none other than US of A) * daily beheadings done by islamist rebels (aka al-Qaeda) * teaching beheadings to their children (will not post link as anyone can find it if (s)he so wishes) * daily kidnappings for ransom by islamist rebels (aka al-Qaeda) * killing of christians en masse by islamist rebels (aka al-Qaeda) * destruction of churches by islamist rebels (aka al-Qaeda) * all war crimes imaginable, mostly by islamist rebels
I wholeheartedly agree. If the corporate media starts brainwashing people, be it for commercial gain or under political pressure, they usually succeed. Why should simple people question mass-media? They have neither the information nor mental abilities to confront such power.
Also take a look at Alex Thomson at Channel 4 and Robert Fisk at the Independent. Both are veteran British journos and both are actually raportinf FROM Syria. Not sitting in some comfortable chair 4000 km away.
Spot on! I would like to add that one of the major driving forces behind all this shit is simple: tortures want to torture and programmers want to create palantirs. I am 100% sure that these 3 poor bastards tortured to death in Gitmo base did not give out anything. The same goes for Abu Ghraib.
As a citizen of former CCCP or Soviet Union as you like to call that, I can only agree. CCCP had much less spookery in everyday life than we have now. Even in those "independent" states that now mostly are US clients...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that a cell phone transmitter (having to reach from the phone to the tower) is on the order of one watt, while your Bluetooth headset (having to reach only a few feet) is on the order of one milliwatt.
Which would you rather have up to your head?
You are absolutely right, there are orders of magnitude differences between handset and headset. Saying that cellphones are no hazard is like saying tobacco is not 20 years ago:)
Too many big businesses are behind cellphone manufacturers, carriers, advertisers, etc. However conclusive study will be laughed at by the industry.
6), covert government operations (lacking 4),... A State Sponsor of Terrorism provides support to non-governmental entities engaged in terrorist activities. It is fair to say that a leader who supports terrorism is himself a terrorist, sort of like how its fair to say an accessory to murder is a murderer. However, deliberately targeting civilians/ethnic cleansing/genocide is a war crime, and calling war criminals terrorists just confuses the issue. If CIA launched a cyber attack to knock out another country's computer infrastructure then it would be terrorism as well. And like in case of Luis Posada Carriles, who is former CIA terrorist there is very dim line between state sponsors of terrorism (in this case USA) and the actual terrorists themselves.
And a leader who supports terrorists is himself terrorist? Fair with me, then those US presidents who supported terrorist activities on Luis Posada and his ilk are also terrorists:)
p.s. That said, I'm quite happy with Ubuwalker's other 5 prongs.
"The Russian government deliberately and systematically attacked Estonia's infrastructure last year"
This is of course pure bullshit (tm). And yes, I am Estonian too and know quite a bit about this "attack". Essentially some pissed of guys bought DDoS against some Estonian websites (mainly media and some government) and that was it. There were nothing special in this DDoS, just http queries coming from host of usual suspects (countries with lax security & no ISP filtering of bad traffic) - no notable traffic from Russia. Of course the DDoS was bad in our context, our 100mbit line was something like 98-99% full and only upstream filters at ISP managed to block it. But was it cyberwar by Russia? Hardly.
I decided to test SSD drives on couple of laptop users some months ago. Today we have none of them left, all went bad in a matter of weeks. Tried SanDisk 5000 series, both 2.5" and 1,5". No luck. 1,8 died completely, 2.5 just got more and more bad blocks. Will try with Mitron 7000 as well, when the damn thing ships.
But whatever they say, my suggestion is to keep out of this SSD business until there is more reliable NV memory than flash...

Absolutely relevant comment on BSD architecture, but somewhat irrelevant on the WTC side:P In fact "they" have already admitted that WTC 7 was in fact blown up. We have just to wait on 1 and 2.
To be on the safe side with offtopic moderators, I want to stress that when upgrading to 5.2 via make world, one should be sure to build and install kernel _before_ building and installing world. And yes, 5.2 is extremely stable. The desktop side is as always second priority, Most people still use FreeBSD as a server platform, and those who already master it can always use it for dekstop also.

Hey! Saddam can even contribute to our code with no problem. Iraq has internet cafes and such, why do we think there are no software developers who contribute?
Even people who match US definition of "terrorist" can contribute and I'm sure there are many of them, to open software. Does it make open software worse?
No, I'm not trolling. Where do you take those things? 97 percent on west bank under PA control? Gimme a break. There are areas A, B and C and only area A is under full PA control. For some reason Kofi Annan thinks different, btw. he's UN chief (maybe you need some citation or proof?)
As for 3 million people living in west bank and 1,2 million living in Gaza strip, they are NOT citizens of Israel and they have basically no rights.
This crime of being jewish on PA lands is some new kind of blood libel? Are you aware that such knowing lies can be punishable crimes? What about Ha'aretz reporter Amira Haas, who lives in occupied West bank? Here you findlast childs killed by israelis, you can search for more yourself.
The problem with this discussion is that one of us is underinformed or maybe just hostile. The facts I have brought are widely available and easily confirmed, but you just don't care. So if you think ignorance is strength then there's no point in discussion.
Err, no. If you just happen to read any news then first "weapon inspectors were forced out" by UN/US before desert fox bombing and second there are no high-grade centrifuges never found. And the biggest problem is with delivery systems, Iraq just does not possess anything like that. They havent *ever* had anything more than Scud B which is little short for attacking USA:P And then of course nobody cares about North Koreas existing nuclear weapons and delivery systems... grr, its dangerous to mess with real powers.
Hey you ever read any history? If Israel is free open democracy then I am Cowboy Neal. Those WMD you quote Iraq as having were given mostly by US of A to fight Iran. When Donald Rumsfeld visited Saddam Hussein in 1983 he, for some reason did not shoot him, but instead was improving US-Iraq relations.... despite gassing and stuff.
I don't believe that you can be so stupid? Take a look at Ha'aretz and you get most facts straight. Yes, the ratio of jews to palestinians killed in last intifada is 1 to 3. In last week Israelis have murdered 3 palestinian children, again read it at haaretzdaily.com which is Tel Aviv newspaper, in case you don't know its the UN recognized capital of Israel. UN resolution mandated 2 separate states in Palestine, but due to political and military hooplaa the palestinians are just left out in the cold. And don't dare to name Israel democracy, a country with no constitution and 1/3 of people derived of most rights including citizenship.
Well, that was stupid. Iraq is in ruins after 8 years in war with Iran, Gulf war and decade of sanctions and aerial bombing. Iraq has no meaningful weapons which would endanger any one except maybe Israel, and then they have that oil. And then they are neighbour of and perfect base for attacking the real enemy Iran.
And now the question: Where is the parent of this thread?
When I was young I always eondered why there are no parachutes on airliners. Of course it makes airvraft a bit mote expensive and bit more complicated, etc. But other than that ?
Well, now I think it has something to do with liability. If 250 people jump and are subjected to harrassing atmosphere, break some feet and nose, suffer horror, lose their mobile phones, etc. then airline companies would face massive and costly lawsuits all the time. So maybe its cheaper to fly without parachutes...
Many people earn money by litigation in all those piracy/copyright cases and I think thats why the problem isn't solved.
It makes perfect sense to me to end all this bs about downloading music/videos and just give some % of ISP traffic income to RIAA/MPAA and settle the problem for good.
Why has US made its so called "evidence" against Osama bin Laden available to very funny countries (like Finland and Sweden), but NOT to Afganistan and its ruling Taliban ?
I suppose they wanted war because they talked only from power position. I am not sure if US has in fact officially requested anything from Taliban...
And then there is this nazi rhetoric: "anyone who is not with us is against us", and so on... if it wasn't real it would be funny.
So the Sony Hack came from IP address 10.76.1.11.
That will be the final and uncontrovertible PROOF that North Korea did it!
