It somewhat funny, but the terminal applications which respect the mouse in X11 have a problem with it.
Most notoriously is aptitude (apt frontend). I am sure there is a way to get it solved, but i had never enough energy to search for it. But normally I don't see a problem in the copy/paste domain, too. The C-c C-v scheme is much worse for me than select/paste.
(4) Death Penalty: Is there any other western state, which still kills its own citizens? You have to abandon the death penalty to become member of the European Union.
The sound support has been sub-optimal, sure it plays.wav etc. with low latency, but the new Soundcards offer nice dsp for positional audio. These are the main things which DirectSound AFAIK addresses and there has been nothing. I believe there are not even the drivers yet in linux.
The timing function have not been reliable, too. At least not in py_sdl...
SDL is nice but it needs a lot of work to be comparable with DX.
At the graphics side, I think that OpenGL is absolute comparable with Direct3D.
Groups like the CSU aren't really Christian or Socialist. Well, I mean, they are, but that's not their focus. In the US, you have well-defined separation of Church and State and so with a political party having a name like this, one would assume that it is a "left wing religious group" (socialist, christian).
In germany there is a separation between the state and religion.
The parties with an C in their name (Christan Democrats/Union) are really right wing in the German Party System. But the C stands for the Christian "morality", at least they say so. But you have to look hard to find any "new-born" or something like that.
In Germany, there *is* state-sponsored religion. I'm not sure which are ok these days, but when I used to live there one had a choice between Catholic, Protestant and Jewish IIRC.
That's not true, but the state collects taxes for the churches, if one is member of any. There are strict rules what's a church and what not, Scientology is AFAIK ruled by court as commercial entity.
They have every right to ban religions that are not state recognized, it's not like the US.
No, that's wrong.
And that cross thingie is really just in the southern states and you can demand to remove it if you feel annoyed by it (At least in public schools).
Actually EU is not doing any better here. The steel industry have been protected from imports from eastern Europe. As an example there have been special Trade Agreements for steel betwenn Czech and the EU but it have have been canceled quick as the market got flooded with cheap steel from there. Same for agriculture: The barriers are very high for exports into the US or EU. But it is just a problem for the 2nd/3rd world.
Most people in the EU are getting angry just because the US shouted at loudest "free trade" but just in cases where it didn't hurt.

Did you try a non standart kernel, like bf2.4 for woody. The problem with my vmware has been no scsi support in the default install kernel.
Does anybody know why they left it out?
They had to license it, if they want to keep the source of their new game closed.
That's the deal with the GPL, the license used for Quake (1|2).
Has written a comment to this case: http://www.xcf.berkeley.edu/~wei/viola/aboutEolasM icrosoft.html
