  1. Hard Sell on Half-Life 3 Trademark Filed In Europe · · Score: 1

It needs to have full voice acting and performance capture.(think Beyond Two Souls) It will also need to bring in the people who never played the first two. The engine used in Portal 2 won't be good enough. Of course it could go with a retro ugly look and focus on story. That would be okay if the price was right.

  12. The biggest difference is the scale of the problem. There is probably half a billion people who have commited copyright infringment. I would be surprised if there are more than 10,000 people involved in child abuse. The stakes are very different as well. You discover a person involved in child abuse you may save the lives of several children. You discover copyright infringment you may save the music industry a few hundred dollars. That if you don't count the money lost to lawsuits from all the false positives.

    2) Use it to preorder stuff from established companies that have a history of shipping stuff. A company that been in buisness for 20 years is going to get you your stuff.
    3) If risking your money on something untested, risk it on stuff that is already built and tested. The Oculus Rift was already awesome and being demoed when its Kickstarter started. Artist ofter already have their songs, books, or prints ready. They just need money to print stuff.
