Intel,AMD and many other companies design their chips in Bangalore. e.g: Xeon 7400 series by Intel and AMD's competitor to the Xeon, called Opteron were designed in B'lore. Infineon, Cisco, GE and whole lot of other companies have chip designing operations in Bangalore.
