Id expect cases like that would be handled by extrajudicial measures either before or after charges - Police or Crown warnings/Extrajudicial sanctions/referral to programs.
I think its in Nunavut. the article mentions PEARL being on the 80th parallel - which is way up in Ellesmere island's neck of the woods. agreed, communication probably by satellite/radio - theres only a couple cell towers in Nunavut at the moment - owned by Lynx Mobility

Hopefully by that time, Stephen Harper will no longer be prime minister, some other asshat will. And Canada will go back to its "peacekeeping" role. We're safe up here!
Perhaps they put some effort into the GUI to establish a brand image of sorts before the Open Source Community got their hands on it, wouldn't you? They got Paid because they had the initiative to start it, that's how it works. Also, the amount they got paid is kind of representative of the amount of demand out there for an alternative to Facebook - So

They announced they would release a semi-working version's code, and that's exactly what they did. Their "mission statement" has a large emphasis on security so i sincerely doubt they will allow another major release with a "Patched" backend. The open source community Is large enough and kind enough to contribute where they may have fallen short. If you want to get paid for helping, you may want to go start your own.
on a gram by gram basis Corella Algae is actually like SUPER nutritious. NASA i think experimented with using it for long space flights in the 60/70's. So your body can function longer running on a tomato-sized amount of algae than it could on an actual tomato.
Ancient alien conspirators actually believe that the Holy Grail was actually a Manna Machine that produced this kind of algae. Fun Fact..

While I personally agree, from a crime-control perspective there is at least some value in this law as a general deterrent.
