  1. Victory for virus writers on Computer Scientists Develop 'Mathematical Jigsaw Puzzles' To Encrypt Software · · Score: 4, Insightful

Who gains from this? Most of all? Virus writers.

Perhaps the real solution is to have the OS never execute code looking anything like this.

  2. EasyDNS rocks on EasyDNS Falsely Accused of Unplugging WikiLeaks · · Score: 1

As a Sr. Sysadmin, I've used EasyDNS for 4 years for a successful dot com's corporate presence, and also used it to register and provide DNS for a couple of personal domains I own.

They DO NOT DESERVE any bad press. I've always been happy with them, and could recommend them to anyone.

I am not associated with them in any way, and if they sucked I'd say they suck.

  3. Not viable unless it's hot air based on Large, Slow Airships Could Move Buildings · · Score: 1

All of these dirigible Great Ideas are doomed to fail unless they use hydrogen or hot air as the lifting gas. Helium is going to run out, forever. Helium is a limited non-replaceable resource. We're using it up faster and faster, and when it's gone, it's gone. Replacing helium is as feasable as implementing Mr. Fusion.

  4. Google's blatant ageism on Tech's Dark Secret, It's All About Age · · Score: 2, Insightful

I predict that one day Google will be crucified by the government for their blatant ageism. And I mean crucified. The racist equivalent would be if 5 African-Americans worked in their entire corporation.

    Just wait.

  5. Why he is where he is... on The Twilight Years of Cap'n Crunch · · Score: 1

Because he is a deceptive ass. How many folks were invited to a "workout" were deceived when what he really wanted was gay sex? I know in the rave scene I was associated with, there were at least 50 incidences of him deceiving people. He's in California because in most other states, this would get one killed. I have no sympathy for someone whose standard procedure is to deceive.
