    Everyone writes about google chrome 68 released today but so far google didn't release 68 version. Just checked official google servers for google chrome (linux version). Stable is still 67.

    Motherboard fails -> buy new laptop or repair on warranty.

    You want upgrade disk to bigger one -> buy new laptop.

    You don't use encryption and something (ssd, motherboard) fails -> you cannot unplug ssd drive, you cannot delete data, you will share all your private data with apple repair centre. Ups!

    Your laptop gets into apple repair centre -> say "bye bye" to all your data because apple doesn't do any data recovery or data copying when replacing hardware.

    So:
    - buy biggest storage variant you will need in next 5 years
    - always use encryption
    - always do regular backup (hey backblaze.com, your new advertising opportunity is there)
    - pray

    And Logitech still doesn't make USB-C type Unifying dongles :-( And using adapter for such thing like a tiny usb dongle is simply stupid idea (because such dongle is meant to be plugged in into laptop and (almost) never taken out).

    Beta versions of opera use gstreamer for video, so if you install H.264 gstreamer plugin (and such exists) then you will have opera playing H.264 streams.

    Not sftp. sftp _server software_. Why? Because it's useful to have and use. Just like in ftp servers - pureftpd, vsftpd, proftpd - all these have much more features than just pure/stupid file serving.

    In my practice setting up sftp server is a problem due to lack of sftp server software. Yes, there is openssh based sftp server which can do almost nothing.

    No sql, no non filesystem quotas, no virtual fs etc.

    If there were something like pureftpd or vsftpd supporting sftp...

    resolver you are using (own or at ISP) would have to be IPv6 enabled and have IPv6 connectivity to get AAAA record in first place.

    "That, and the fact that no ISP I know uses the root servers directly. " - lol, caching resolvers ARE using root servers for queries. That's why every caching resolver has list of root dns servers IPs.

    So why this doesn't happen now? Do you know that few root dns servers is IPv6 enabled already? Well, there is posibility of not having this list updated...

    Why google doesn't add ipv6 addresses to their nameservers and then respond with AAAA records if a question is asked over ipv6?

    Few root nameservers have ipv6 addresses already so it should work for google, too.

    "throughput" isn't that important. Random reads/writes is what shows that most of SSD are crappy and weak unfortunately.

    The worse thing is that everyone things that throughput is so important :-/
