More anti-palestinian rhetoric, just from wikileaks this time. What can you expect though with Assange meeting with the Israeli government to make sure the wrong information isn't leaked? That basically invalidates wikileaks from an Israel criticism perspective.
I'm not really sure how people even read this stuff without being appalled. Do people just not realize that Israel is an apartheid state? That Israel bulldozes palestian houses to build Jewish only settlements? Do people not realize that Israel has Jewish only highways? Do people really believe that every palestinian is an explosives expert and carries and AK47, and the attacks on palestinian communities is actually justified?
Any of that happening in the US would be completely unacceptable. But it's ok Israel right? Because of that ridiculous idea the media has sold everyone on known as terrorism, right?
Wikileaks mostly releases things that everyone should already know, unless you get all your news and information off of TV and the TV news websites. But then they mix it in with propaganda like this. It's like wikileaks is the latest attack on the people who actually realize the media is lying to them, to get them to still keep from learning the truth about these issues. You're still getting all of this wikileaks information from the mainstream media. Do people just believe that the mainstream media has no choice now and they must share all these truths with you? I hope people are cluing in that the mainstream media is just feeding them more of the same, but people who think they are on the right path are just being misguided with the label wikileaks.
The Pentagon makes this huge public announcement all across the mainstream media about wanting to find and speak with Julian. That isn't how the pentagon functions. Julian meets with the Israeli government to ensure the wrong information isn't shared. lol. All kinds of people are getting in trouble for leaking information, but not Julian. You keep hearing about it right, because the mainstream media making him out to be some hero, but he isn't getting in trouble. The people who believe in the organization so much are the ones getting in trouble. And then you get spoon fed obvious information that those of us ignoring the mainstream media have known for years. And you still believe the propaganda, especially when it comes from your beloved wikileaks.
Those results were from only 68% of the precincts reporting (but of course the MSM didn't hesitate to treat it like the final count). You need to check again.
Good ol ProWar Obama. Oh wait I know, everyone says "but he wants to pull out of Iraq!" Yeah, but he promised AIPAC he'd do whatever they wanted to Iran. Go google Obama+Iran. NO PROWAR PRESIDENTS!
And who exactly do you consider to be the lesser evil? Which AIPAC bootlicker who just can't wait to attack Iran?
You lesser of evils people are the people who broke the system. You are the ones who are being manipulated. Everyone should vote for who they want, not "tactically" to get a person they DONT want into office. It's completely asinine.
And everyone single one of you is one person more who is screwing things up and perpetuating the problem by infecting other people with your political deficiency.
The problem with "if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear" means that you are trusting in the people who are monitoring you. That is the first problem with it in my opinion. I agree with what the AC said about having stuff to hide. Yes we do have stuff to hide, because our personal life is not the business of government. Unless someone is naieve enough to think that government officials have your best interest in mind, they should realize that citizens must always be wary of their government leaders trying to take too much control. As privacy is removed, so is control. Eventually, all citizen control will be removed and you know longer have anything even remotely resembling a democracy.
On the other hand, in light of the repeated corruption, racketeering, profiteering, scandals, bootlicking to lobby groups, lies, murders, pork politics, etc, it is clear that we have no reason to trust anyone legislating to reduce our privacy. In fact, I feel that we should be decreasing the privacy of government officials. When the same people are on the boards of multiple munitions companies, oil companies, military technology companies, militrary contract companies, AND in positions of government office (especially very high level government office), is it not clear that we need to decrease their privacy so we know what their personal agendas are? Because after all, you have to be a blind fool to not realize people in high levels of government are there for purely personal gain. Now consider that a person who not only affects/directs the decisions of the highest levels of government also makes a profit off of their oil/munition/construction/contract/etc company investments. Do you honestly want someone like that reducing your privacy? Do you honestly want someone like that enjoying an accelerated level of privacy?
Privacy is freedom. Freedom is security. (For all you people who have lost your mind in the name of false security) Becoming a government official should be a sacrifice of your freedom/privacy to serve the group. Not some kind of lordship where you can make personal profit at public cost.
Alienware's top of the line notebook is a Sager (Clevo). look at sagernotbooks.com or pctorque.com (and plenty of other brands) who sell the same laptop with their brand on it.
So now Dell owns a company that brands notebooks that another company manufacturers.
Apparently yes. They've already started censoring bulletins at least. A bulletin my SO wrote that only said "fox owns myspace" and had a copy&paste of section TOS 5.c. was deleted. Then after she tried to post a bulletin a few times her account was suspended. After her account was out of suspension she couldn't post any bulletins with both the words "myspace" and "fox" in them. Funny that they email is down for maintenance now:D... I know, that's not fair, everything goes down for maintenance all the time at myspace. Also apparently some people with massive friend lists who also posted bulletins criticizing fox have completely lost their accounts.
I submitted an account cancellation but I have to wait on an email to confirm it. haha.
Because there is nothing remotely close to proof for ID. The "evidence" is only assumed to be evident. ID does not help us build a larger model of understanding of the universe. It actually impedes the larger model. It also isn't this unspecific, religion unbiased ID that was mentioned. The ID talked about in schools is very specifically Christian.
The idea of ID originated in a religious mind for the religious reasons of combating evolution founded work and to attempt to explain the origin conflicts in Christianity. On the other hand, the evolution founded work was done to further our understanding of the world around us. Of course it extends to our understanding of the entire universe.
It's pure profit until you start losing money because you are playing it too much. Or missing out on other opportunities; better job, better education, better credentials, etc.
Plus, he and his family apparently haven't starved to death. However, the trials he's faced in this process could greatly pay off and his prestigious entries on his resume now could get him a very respectful job that, from a financial approach, make the entire ordeal worthwhile.
How about more modular software instead of just focusing on the OS?
Everyone's going on and on about making the OS more modular. The problem isn't really the modularity of the OS. The issue that comes up is how *unmodular* the software is and that's why a from-source distro fits this scenario well. For a binary distro a lot of software needs to compiled for many different scenarios (such as the vim example for X, gtk, CLI, etc), or in possible cases compiled for all scenarios. For a from source distro, you only need to compile it to fit exactly what you need.
I agree that the OS needs to be more modular, and I agree that binaries need to exist for those evironments where it is necessary or demanded. However, I think that at the same time we need to consider writing our software to be more modular. If you didn't have to recompile binaries to support different scenarios, this modularity of the OS wouldn't be quite as necessary. If you could have one compiled core for vim, then attach different modules to it, it wouldn't be necessary to package the core 25 times.
If you built a bed out of totally non-bed related parts, it would be a form of hacking.
For example, you hack a car axle patch in for a leg or post. Better yet, you could put a set of shocks on your bed with the intent of hacking a regular happy bed. The shocks weren't designed for people to attach beds to and beds weren't designed to attach shocks too, but whose stopping you. You might even get some great benefits from it; kind of like hacking together some nmap code an email client code and ending up with an email client that can scan every server you email:D
Like I said, Ignorant. You are ignorant of this scenario: Your ISP has Company A (You) and Company B with a bad administrator. Company B screws up and installs a Microsoft patch that opens up their Exchange SMTP server as an open email relay. So they become a spam email relay just because they applied a patch. Unbeknown to the ISP, someone accidentally became a SPAM relay. Then some idiots get this attitude that the ISP is a Spam friendly ISP. My company was blocked because a company that had been shutdown 2 years beforehand was listed in the same IP block.
So here's what we did when we discovered we were on SPEWS: 1. Looked up SPEWS database. 2. Tried to contact the Company listed in our block as a SPAMMER. 3. Discovered Company didn't exist. 4. Contacted ISP to find out why we were being blocked. 5. Discovered ISP wasn't doing business with the company anymore. 6. The IP address in this block that was listed on SPEWS wasn't even assigned to anyone. 7. For the hell of it, tried to use the IP address for an SMTP relay. Didn't work. 8. Tried contacting SPEWS (HAHAHAHAHAHAHA) on the newsgroups, for about a year. 9. Gave up. 10. Half a Year later was removed from the list.
If any administrators are reading this and think SPEWS is worthwhile... please quit and get a job in Marketing. Thanks.
Here is a website detailing basically what happens with SPEWS: http://www.satlug.org/~kjar/spews/
My company has had prety much the exact same experience. Anyone using SPEWS is either lazy, ignorant, or could care less about the right way to do things. In other words, just don't use SPEWS. Use ANY list but SPEWS.
Are they really for the earths rotational speed or the length of daytime?
The speed that the earth orbits the sun is related to where the earth is pointing in space after a rotation. If our orbital speed changes, day time length changes.
To take it to the extremes to get the point across: Imagine that it takes the eart exactly 24 hours for a full rotation. Then imagine that it takes the earth 96 hours to orbit the sun. Now imagine standing in New York at noon, with the sun directly overhead. In 24 hours the earth will have moved.25 the distance around the sun, but will not be facing the sun. It will be facing the same direction in space, but not at the sun. This is where Sidereal comes in...

Thanks for pulling the the idiot flag on your mail box.
Go learn about him instead of playing Red v Blue. Obviously are appear to be playing for the Blue team.
Go learn about Ron Paul and you'll see he is the only worthy candidate.

You're mom knows that linux is a kernel?
Probably 2 or 3 people (counting me) in my IT dept can answer "what is linux" properly.
I did ask someone once if they knew what BSD was, and they said "linux".
