the person who posted story was incorrect about another thing. 'No One Lives Forever' is NOT a James Bond game. In fact, the main character is female. Most of the settings/environments for this game were pulled from several 60s spy novels. None of the novel mentioned by the developer were written by Ian Flemming, the creator of James Bond.
"How many SlashDot users/readers are there? Realistically? A few hundred?" Are you joking? Have you ever seen the amount of poll results?(excluding the current) The usual results are around 20,000. Unless those "few hundred" people have such great amount of time on their hands to vote a dozen times a piece(from different IPs or user names) I do believe you are mistaken for the amount of/.ers.
Did you note the 4.0a. Do you know what a means? Could it be an alpha release? "We at Opera have decided to refer to this version as a technology preview since the term Alpha states by its nature that it has not been released from our local offices. " Wowee who woulda thunk it? In alpha state, you don't try to conquer the competition, you try to get working software. Another note: Yet again more proof that everyone in the world reads slashdot. "opera -page='www.slashdot.org'"
Once upon a time, there was this video game consale called a Sega Genesis. And for this console was a nice game named Shadowrun. I believe it was created in 1994 but i could be wrong. Anyway it is quite an entertaining game and I actually played it for about a week nonstop before finding out, it actually had a goal and plot. You could do whatever you want, hax0r some corporation, go bust up a building guns blazing... all sorts of stuff. You went to clubs and bars and got contracts. Anyway go to a game store and look for it in bargain bins or get the emulator or something.
My question to you is how can you like rap??? Nevermind, I am sure that many people have pointed this out, but is it actually the artist speaking out or the artist reading some nice neat notecards that the nice old lady in PR wrote out for them? I personally don't care what music artists says about music piracy but I respect the fact that you are inclined to buy the entire legit album.
I don't think the matter at hand is "will you buy it?" I think this entire discussion is about "hot damn anyone who buys that is a complete moron. And about the evilness of HP. They dont give a shit about if you're gonna buy it because there is always someother upper middle class family living in the burbs that will.
