The war on terror will never be won against the al cia-duh, the war on drugs will never be won because of all the "black" money not overseen by our illustrious CONgressMEN?     Might be wrong, but bacillus thuringiensis is primarily used because of it's effectiveness as a -pesticide-. Glyphosate, as discussed here, is primarily used as a -herbicide-.

    Both are pesticides...

    Bt is used as an insecticide, both in GMO and conventional forms.

    Glyphosate is a herbicide.

    Monsanto is a genetic humana-cide.

    Which means that it's very likely that in the presence of glyphosate their yield will drop.

    Which means glyphosate is acting on other biological pathways we still do not yet understand.

    And yet we still consider this stuff to be safe to use.

    I'd rather just use bacillus thuringiensis.

    If GMO rice passes traits to weeds, what does it pass on to humans?

    The universities and other entities involved with funding the research are not shafted when these startups happen. Spinoff companies are great for universities. They get paid for their ownership on the patent(s).

    It will never get off the ground if there are no wires for the power companies to meter it.

    AFAIK, parent post is absolutely correct in the strict legal sense - you can just walk out, and they can just fire you. Contracts do not trump those laws.

    Most employment contracts are "at will", you can quit without cause AND you can be fired without cause. The issue with this surrounds unemployment benefits. Most employers won't fire you unless attendence policies are violated. They would rather work the shit out of you for the money you contracted for which is cheaper than hiring someone else. The next best option is to hire someone else. And they will. Loyalty dosen't exist like it did 30 years ago, although there are those special enclaves where loyalty is everything, good luck in finding one and greater luck in getting hired.
