Or not. Considering our sun is classified as a YELLOW STAR, as opposed to a white dwarf. Not to mention that everytime I've seen the damn thing, it appears yellow.
...that in 10 to 20 years when we can render images such as those in Toy Story (or even in something like Star Wars: AotC), the new hardware will be there taking 70 hours per frame still; albiet that new hardware will be producing images that are indistinguishable from real life.
He didn't go blind! I mean...have you ever tried to do, well just about anything, with one eye covered? Things don't go so well. You can't tell if something is 2 feet away or 10; you lose all depth perception. He'd have been stumbling around breaking things.
My god man, where do you get diction like that?..be like totally...
Although, I must admit you have a point. If the phone relies on relaying the message along your bone structure, what happens if you cough, or worese yet, fall down. The person on the other end of the line might end up deaf!

I'll respond with something I've learned over the years:
1) There isn't a woman alive that isn't bipolar. 2) There isn't a woman alive that isn't a masicist. (Hence their attraction to the "Woman get me a beer" gene) 3) Teenagers don't know what they want. 4) Women don't know what they want. (In life or otherwise) 5) Teenage women are (#3 ^ #4) 6) True love exists -- at the bottom of a liquor bottle
Everyone says the IE breaks the standards and so on. Unfortunetly we're missing the fact that IE has become the standard, while someone out there said, "Ok....this is how HTML is supposed to work", Bill came along and said, "No....this is how HTML is going to work". Unfortunetly, like the Operating System, we can all be rebels and feel very special about being smart and using Linux and so on, but it won't change the fact that Bill will always market his HTML on the mindless masses, who drive the capitalistic economies of the world. thereby defining what would be referred to as a "standard".

Oh you're a consumer alright. Unless you don't buy food at a grocery store. Then again if you pay attention to your principals you mustn't eat there. I mean, 25 years ago that big corporate store bought Ma and Pa's grocery store and built their big and mean store on top of it, and that just isn't right, now is it?
Who cares if they're suing people. I'm sorry, just because they don't exactly follow the mores of the Slashdot Community, doesn't make them evil. Certain things are forgivable when you makes games as well as they do.
A resurgance of sales? Maybe if you're only looking at the Slashdot Community. Although. I seriously doubt the 0.5% of the public market technically savvy enough to implement a mod is going to recreate another buying frenzy. Like most technically interesting, but corporately unsponsored things, this will be the area of a few people willing to take the time and money to mod the box and download all the necessary utilities to use DIVX.

Never say something like: "No one would be dumb enough...". Trust me, as far as people in general go, there is ALWAYS someone dumb enough.
25% of the world may be hungry. Another large portion may live without drinkable water, but one thing NO ONE is in short supply of is dumb people.
hmm....maybe we should start feeding the dumb people to the rest of us. YES! A solution to world hunger!
If you're using Windows....have you tried to open MS Office lately? Specifically the XP version? Its not all the much faster.
