actually you can receive signals at a greater distance than you would expect without any amplification. So the 2 way communication range will be extended but not necessarily on a 1:1 basis. Possibly more along the line of 1 to.707

This amp was discussed over at netstumbler.com. There it was being said that Linksys was expecting FCC approval beginning of December and available soon after. So here it is the end of the month and it is still "available soon"
I worked with someone who built a Thompson sub machine gun out of paper, dowel rods and clothes pins and rubber bands. He had it set up so that one pull of the trigger would fire between 12 and 20 BBs. This thing was so realistic looking that when he brought it in to show people the UPS guy refused to enter the office and the police came to investigate! So what is the big deal with wood?
Even though PDAs were already around when Niven and Pournelle wrote this book they described their use in a wireless network to take attendance in meetings and to conduct them. At the time when the book was written PDAs were just glorified address books.
MSN buying customers from qwest.net, extremely funny. As a qwest.net victim I guess MSN is hoping they will be getting customers with low enough expectation from dealing with qwest.net so they will not have to do too much to keep them. Just a little fluff, then again getting the Usenet neswgroups working will be a major step. Me? I'm shopping for a new ISP
