That not same as App or Apps or App Store... :P

Seriously though, as I know my self I've used the word "Application" but that does not mean that a few others may have privately used App.

The issue is that it wasn't generally used. Even I have inveted expressions that some of my friends now use frequently. Not in english though. But would you claim that is a word for general use? No. Especially as it a play with 2 other words, where one is just a common expression but not a real word.

Now should that be considered as a legitimated word? NO! It's not. Could still be trademarked if I wanted to. If words or expressions are trademarkable, why not this one too.

Just as Apple says, Windows is a general word too in that case. And in that case Lindows would been fully legible name for that distro.

Btw, your missing the point. iPods and other mp3 players are doomed.

Future is phones. Show me the native support on the phone side, maybe Andorids have it. Symbian is suporter of MPEG4, Apple is supporter of Mpeg4. MS claims to be a supporter of Mpeg4 (i doubt that will happen).

Google maybe support non standard formats.

Time for a competing service to sky rocket supporting standards. So far I'm all into MPEG and wont change that unless an other standard comes along. Will never make WebM content for any purpose just as little I do any WMV.

Everything i code goes into h.264, finale.

All should have similar stand, I'm not against WebM, just standardize it and I'm on the wave, but unless that happens I will resist.
