Correct, and using your own example, when iron sword met bronze in battle, bronze lost. This enabled extinction of entire tribes that would have been otherwise impossible. Same happened when rock throwers met bows, bows met guns and so on.

It's funny how people who try to twist arguments to justify their beliefs tend to pick ones that can be used against them far more then for them.

Data that is kept under retention laws isn't available for commercial usage (afaik). It's only available for things like law enforcement, which means that while it can be misused, such misuse is highly unlikely to become widespread.

Same cannot be said about your data on social networks, not by a long shot.

If you want to pick on it, then you should educate yourself first. Cigarettes have significant benefits in short term, from neurological to cardiac. In this regard they can be compared to caffeine. Their major problem is severe damage caused to lung and thorax/mouth areas which massively outweighs benefits in long term.

You "usage" argument is also shaky. Everything humans use is a tool. Tools, among other things ENABLE action that would be otherwise impossible. Therefore it is indeed viable to argue that action can be influenced by presence and efficiency of a certain tool. Great example of this is indeed gun crime - for example in Kosovo (a well documented area) there has been a very significant increase in gun crime related to crimes of passion after war, due to significant increase of availability of assault rifles.

Because at sometime we'll hit the point where methane starts to get released from seabed where it's stored, just like it happened during major climate warmings in the past. At this point, it will likely become fully self-sustaining at unstoppable.

There has been credible evidence that "point of no return" comes when oceans are warm enough to start releasing methane stored on the seabed. Then greenhouse effect will start feeding itself and will likely become unstoppable, and we'll simply repeat history with massive warming and sea level rise.

Reality is though, that we have no reliable information on when this threshold will occur. We do know that oceans are warming up, and it's alarming, so reducing the emissions would absolutely help. But all this crying about DOOMSDAY only pulls the rug from under the people who are actually working on the problem.

And USSR industry, while deeply socialist on personal level, was also deeply capitalist on organisational levels. Competition between companies for government contracts has been bloody - just look at their Mikoyan&Gurjevich vs Sukhoi competition on the market of fighter jets. It makes Lockheed Martin VS Boeing look communist (as in real meaning of the word, "let's share the wealth") in comparison.

And while saying that, he is in fact correct. One of the major reasons why capitalism needs to be moderated by someone is because its natural aim is to plan only for short term to kill off competition, and handle long term by buying out or destroying competition. We've had that happening once in our known history, and are currently in the process of it happening the second time.

So "evil"? No. Need to have forward planning and moderation to keep it from destroying itself? Yes.

None of the perks you listed will be needed in a few weeks, because everyone who played for longer periods will have squad upgrades. These grant the perk to entire squad. I am not the most active of players, and I already have squad sprint, squad ammo and squad flak jackets unlocked.

In this regard, just play engineer if you have little time. SCAR-H is the single best slot 1 weapon available to the class, available after a couple of games as engineer and starter RPG is likely to remain the most versatile of RPGs even after most people get laser designators to make javelin worth taking. The only other meaningful unlock is anti-tank mine, which you also get pretty quickly. Everything else for engineer is either a piece of fluff like EOD bot or just plain useless like the rest of the weapons engineer gets.
