Hmm..I don't think you've read The Tick...it is satire of superheroes, so even that trend of which you speak is made fun of in the comic book itself. And I doubt Mr Edlund would consider himself among the unwashed masses of which you speak. Also, as far as mainstream comics go, have you ever read them? The male characters aren't any more depth-induced than the female, they're all pretty tepid and weak. Just my.02...
This was brought up yesterday and my comments still stand...the main reasons that Sam went down is because of large chain stores like HMV and Wal-Mart, and since record sales have not dropped because of MP3's (in fact they've been on the rise indefinitely since 1996), one can concur that it's not a loss of sales causing Sam's business to flop. If there are more sales out there, we must wonder why he would lose business. Hmmm..now who could be taking all the extra business as well as some of Sam's original customers...why look at that...more mutli-national massive corporations whom the RIAA approve of (since their business models are increasingly similar) etc etc... So before you point fingers at P2P and more specifically music sharing, I'd suggest digging a little deeper than the rhetoric you're fed....thanks!
Umm..I believe Metallica was on that list (although don't even get my started about their Art Cred) And real bands are on there (ie Soul Coughing, Radiohead, Meat Puppets). But this isn't permission to freely distribute all their music..this is permission to distribute live music...
Lol, but the first people listed there as causes are HMV and Wal-Mart, ooh..more huge corporations..well look at that... and there is no evidence that record sales have dropped...in fact..they're doubled since 1996. So if there is more music purchased now, and the little guys are still dying, then who is really at fault here? come on, I know you can do it... there you go...
I think it's funny how you reluctantly post anything remotely good newsworthy for Microsoft like the release of a new OS or anything like that,
But when they are in the new for something like this... it's posted almost immediately? Why are you so hypocritical???
I suppose if you consider the release of XP a Good Thing (since I assume that's what you're talking about.) And just to clarify your misconceptions, I seem to remember that there was an article posted about XP's release. If the discussions about the release turns ugly, that's not/. 's fault, it is the community's point of view in and of itself. Not that majority makes rhyme or reason of course, but if that's the way the wind blows so be it. One comes here, I would hope with the intention of participating in an open discussion with those who have similar interests albeit different opinions. Anyway, I've gotten off on a tangent, but point being, instead of complaining about the choice of topics or discussion, start some meaningful "pro-m$" discussion if you like, it is your right as a community member to do so.
Nothing is gained by whining and flaming your intended audience.
I kid you not, my secondary box at home is running it for now (I have to support it here at work soon so I better know it) and it literally says NT 5.1, so really there can't be that much changed I suppose. But yes, they do in fact have the raw socket support in. I suppose the home users will notice a big difference but for those who ran 2k it really won't be any big surprise except for the extra added "midware" as the DoJ put it..heh..
XP is actually NT 5.1, if you look in the system specs it actually says that. Not really that much of a change from 2k.. (except for the fischer-price graphics and slowdown I guess...oooh features!)
Umm..pardon me but isn't ATI the company famous for not releasing what their clock speeds are? The OEM versions of the 8500 have been clocking at 50mhz Less than the Retail ones. (Not surprisingly, the ones made my..BUM BUM BUM ATI themselves) And when they were asked about this they stated they weren't releasing any of the speeds on that card itself? (I believe this was also stated on HardOCP as well as Anandtech on Tues or Mon)
On top of that..this is not game optimization..what they did was lower the graphic quality within this game so they could get the desired framerate..which to me is simply unacceptable...
This cannot be serious...I mean to equate a program or OS with a belief system is ludicrous. Granted the fact that Mr. Bill has decided to align himself with pusillanimous christian wretches (not all christians are wretches mind you, just the ones he's chosen..so don't flame me) does make me even more anti-microsoft than I already was, but to equate Linux with any sort of belief system is simply quite mad. I believe the first post was a joke, amusing and so forth, but the one "calling out" linux as an anti-christian os....I mean come on... And if you want me to stoop to a petty belief system level to make you understand that's fine: Linux is about open source and sharing, what more of a sense of community could you get? Community=caring, help, and support... hmm...yep..that's definitely anti-christian (especially by most christians I have personally witnessed....) FEH! -Q
