Why would a "new" language be neccessary? Commerce conducted on the internet and the communication of it could be performed the same way as the "old commerce" which a "new language" was not developed for. I don't want to sound like a flaimbait, but why was this posted?
"spare the lachrymosity when the fulminations have inveighed"
I'm not going to be surprised at all if Mitnick brings this to the supreme court and of course wins. I guess now they can apparently bend our rights granted by the supreme law of the land.
"spare the lachrymosity when the fulminations have inveighed"
now that i think of it, after i had played quake III for about 4 hours, i did go outside and kill every one eyed monster with my plasma gun that i could find, they must be right
This question came up in to my mind a while ago when I first got into Perl. I had plenty of documentation on my computer, but I don't know, for some reason I just wanted to have some physical documentation, aside from that, when you don't have a laptop and want to read on the go, the book is the only choice. Printed manuals are here to stay.
i can't imagine how fast that is, those have to rip, maybe i'll get quad g4's with a gig of ram and oc3 lines for my server, now if i only had over 10 grand...
I was very very surprised to recently see an article about AOL-TimeWarner being potentially worse than Microsoft.
The moment I heard of the merger, I knew it would happen, as did many others I am assuming-simply because it is the merging of two seperate markets to converge into one market...
And...
I can cite Steve Jobs, The Woz, Bill Gates, Jeffrey Bezos, Paul Allen, The Founders of Yahoo, Andy Grove, and Hewlett and Packard's brilliance...but Steve Case? He is a MORON; INCREDIBLY STUPID, he does not possess the intellectual capacity to head AOL-TW, his stupidity is extremely overwhelming
I think AOL's growth has dramatically slowed, profits weren't up as high this year as they were last year, I begin to hear more and more AOL Hate stories and see AOL Hate stories popping up in my newspaper's Tech section.
I think its the many other choices consumers are seeing available, AOL had dramatic growth as the Internet Age came into effect, when everybody suddenly had to be on the Internet, at that time it was a lot of new Internet users that went right to AOL because they hear it is the best from [very stupid people] and the pathetic ad campaigns, now there isn't as much growth left for ISP consumer bases as there was previously, because everyone is already on the Net and has been for about at least a year now. And now that many have been on for at least a year now, many are switching to Open Internet ISPs, rather than AOL and Prodigy's Enclosed Internet.
I posted the same story a few days ago and it was declined =(...
Anyway...doesn't this mean that...
Think of it this way: If you don't know who is a "child", you don't have to employ any special tactics. A major hole in the law. If you don't ask the age, you're off scott-free.
I, as well as many others, remember reading about the "New Area 51" in Popular Science. It had been reported that it was abandoned and all activity there had been halted.
I can't access the TerraServer site, it is bogged down, maybe not, I would not be surprised at all if the Gov. had the pictures of the Top Secret Highly Classified Code-Word Code Blue Code Red Uknown Confidential Super Street Fighter II Platinum Turbo Championship Edition Alpha base taken down. Seems all a little too odd to me.
Does it give a date when the pictures were taken? As I said, I had read all activity at the Nevada site had been halted...
Speaking of which, maybe you could call it embarassment, I don't know...my cousin was posting several things on slashdot, in which this one he didn't anonymously post it. It kind of pisses me off how he couldn't even use correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling...aside from the "universe expanding light theory" which was absolutely incredibly stupid. Don't worry, he's an idiot in real life too.
That reminds me of this onHand PDA thing I saw, incase some of you don't know, it is a small device that fits on your wrist as a watch, and it is a PDA, now with this...one running Linux could be great, the onHand runs on Windows CE i believe. No matter what the OS though, a watch computer seems too cool, so I think I'm going to definitely pick one up.
It is quite annoying seeing many of the new companies frontlining DSL and all of the coverage DSL recieves, some view DSL as the wave of the future for internet access. Misinforming the consumer. Every techie knows how much more expensive DSL is comparibly to Cable, and they also know how much faster Cable is, and how Cable speeds don't vary so much according to distance (DSL speeds are DRAMATICALLY different according to the distance from your house to the DSL base station). The main reason these companies are frontlining DSL, aside from them being stupid and not caring about the un-knowing consumer, is because it is too hard to have a Cable Broadband company, cable modems are more commonly sold by the local cable companies, it is much easier to get in to the DSL market though as I see over 3 companies in my area with DSL access that are not even affiliated with my phone company.
Some may mention @Home and others, but @Home is provided by your local cable company, while I see loads of DSL companies where the DSL is not provided by your phone company.
I hate to sink to a level like this, but...well, sure I'll give you that one line was purely improperly worded, but, maybe you should get a dictionary and look up "theory" one or eight more times.
"have all the answers"? make that one or nine times.
dogmatic pontificating? umm, make that the whole dictionary.
OK. As for wormholes, lets base them on "explanations" of black holes, as they are told to have much in common, the difference being that a black hole does not have the "exit hole". Let's remember that black holes are just a theory as well as wormholes. Assuming that the theory is correct, black holes contain a speed of 2x light, as would a worm hole (according to its theoretical explanation), therefore anything inside it would be exposed to and travelling at 2x light (approx. 133,920,000 miles per hour, or 372,000 miles per second), therefore it would take 1/2 a year to travel one light year and it would only take 2.25 years to reach Alpha Centauri (this is assuming the worm hole is within an insignificant distance from Earth, and the worm hole exits at Alpha Centauri).
But I, for a completely inexplicable reason (too hard to explain and put in to words, and probably too hard to comprehend being another person-with my method of explaining the inexplicable) believe that ANYTHING exceeding the speed of light would create a permanent dent in space and time, which could be similiar to that of a black hole or worm hole due to the mass concentration of gravity (or something, assuming that gravity revolves around the speed of light...), but as another part of this theory, the dent would have a constant flow of speed, therefore increasing the density of gravity, therefore rapidly getting faster and faster (or something). When I apply this theory to things, it seems like black holes and worm holes could be impossible, as they would slowly concentrate the universe and increase gravity levels meaning the universe is now getting more dense at a constant rate, and the process keeps getting faster and faster...this is getting inexplicable, you may know what I mean.
Another "theory" of mine is that the universe is infinitely expanding as light continues to infinitely travel and stuff...I hate trying to explain this stuff...
As humans on Earth it seems everything we know is on a basis that everything has a creator and container, with which seems could not possibly apply to the universe...the container of it would need a container and...and the creator would need a creator...BUT, things do not have to be this way, for we as humans on Earth have never attempted to explain any other way or really think about any other way, but the bottom line here is that it really doesn't matter, because no explanation can be truely correct as it is based on beliefs and theories, and the basis for everything will never ever be known, and if it even were to be known some day some how, it would not make any difference whatsoever...
Also, slightly pertaining to this, when a scientist is to say that most likely life does exist on Europa (moon of Jupiter) under the ice, the scientist has nothing truely to base it on, as no one knows the basis for everything and the basis for "life", life does not neccessarily automagically exist because there is all of the elements we need to live at this place...this is also pertaining to Darwinism...
Basically, if someone is to say it is "Most Likely to be this way [or something]" that could never be "most likely" as we only know the conditions of life on one planet and do not know any others, and there is just no real evidence or anything to base it on...and for people that may say things like "Why would be the ONLY life that exists, huh, why just us, of course their has to be something else, some other life on some other planet somewhere" I say to a statement like this: "Why Not".
And for other things like Alien lifeforms walking on Earth, I find it too hard for this really to happen because that Alien lifeform would be exposed to different gravity and would have evolved to that form of gravity, and the gravity on Earth could simply make the lifeform go flying up into the air or extremely heavy and it would be extremely hard to move...
These are just my opinions and theories, and I have many others, but the length...
Fair Use Law. Not particularly related to this 2600 incident, but to another "milestone" incident. I have compiled this information.
The usage of "fucknbc.com" was of critical nature. According to the Fair Use Law, the fair use (which includes criticism) of copyrighted work may not be classified as infringement of copyright. --- The Fair Use Law: Sec. 107. Limitations on exclusive rights: Fair use
Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A, the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes SUCH AS CRITICISM, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is NOT AN INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT.
In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include -
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for nonprofit educational purposes; (2) the nature of the copyrighted work; (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
The fact that a work is unpublished shall not itself bar a finding of fair use if such finding is made upon consideration of all the above factors. --- It is quite a shame, the "2nd Generation of the internet" is going to incorporate all of these issues and compensate for what may be seen as "unjust", whether we like it or not, odds are we will not win the Free Speech battle, or any other battles pertaining to the many other issues of the Internet. Enjoy what you have now while you can.
