    The example is good for the following reasons: Some are US entities, some are European ones. Organisations like Apache Foundation are obsolete. No one wants to be governed by US entities because we don't understand them. KDE e.V., Document Foundation are so much better governed.

    Some truth in it. The issue is that the EFF is a complete failure in patent reform advocacy. When you hire patent attorneys the cause is lost. They ought to learn from Europe where the patent critics are much stronger and when you donate it won't end up in the pockets of patent attorneys.

    Teachin #1: This is about Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) to protect the British porn industries from continental internet competition from players like Belgium based Youporn, Pornhub etc. The European competitors should call upon the WTO to give Britons unlimited market access to free internet porn.

    The point is that a large economy can afford to invest into new energy infrastructure and diversification of ownership. Germany net exports electricity.

    Japan should focus on its robotic programme or the development of high tech worker protection clothes or nuclear diagnosis tools. These were the largest international embarassments of Japan during the Fukushima crisis. In the 80ths you expected Japan to come up with flying cars and nano technology wonders. Meanwhile Germany does the switch to renewables.
