Lots, if not most, corporations pay significantly less tax than individuals. Whenever there's a big corporate crime trial, the tax info usually starts coming out. Microsoft (maybe it was Enron) had not paid tax in something like 3/4 of the past years before their big trial.
We have to sacrifice our freedoms to protect our freedoms. Even though our free society is better than an authoritarian one, authoritarianism is far better at protecting freedom. So, the only way to be free and have rights is to not be free and lose your rights. You dirty hippies get it now?
People have developed this odd belief that anything you see on the internet only took an upload to produce. News has a cost and if papers can't make money, they're going to stop doing it.
That was sarcasm. I remember what Bush did to Aristide and Powell trying to explain to the press why if we didn't depose a democratically-elected President, why Aristide couldn't go back to Haiti when he said he wanted to.
It ceases to be an "experiment" when it's been in place and proven to work for decades. And, it's crazy to think it's good to force American workers to complete with indentured servants working in factories that dump toxic chemicals out the back door and don't employ safety standards to keep prices lower than US factories will ever be able to match.
Ah, the "we're not Free Market enough" argument. Disregard how much you see the Friedmannite approach failing, and blame it on not being pure enough. Let's just remove every ounce of regulation and trade restrictions. Only *then* will we know if this experiment is working. Of course, until that day you can continue to blame our problems on the regulations that seemed to work great for 50 years before we started dismantling them.
Sure, it might be driving down wages and benefits for Americans and allowing other nations to leverage our infrastructure for their profit, but isn't that just one of the perks of being a Friedmannite economy?
First, come up with a way to detect duplicate videos. I'm so tired of thieves recopying videos and siphoning off hits from the original content provider.
Second, I'd love for a way to find my past comments. There's currently no way to do this.
Yes, there's a lot of idiocy on YouTube but I love browsing videos for laughs and even the commercials have been kept to a respectable limit. People get to post stupid, funny, cute, and creative movies that normally only family members or friends would get to enjoy.

I was initially ambivalent about scanners and pretty much said, "hey, it's not like they're storing the images." Test Mode my ass. If they have the ability, they are using the ability. Next, we'll hear about machines "accidentally" left in test mode during real-world usage. There is absolutely no reason to store these images.
OT but I've always wanted to have the money and influence to throw a high society party with politicians, entertainers, and scientists co-mingling just to hear the hostess introduce a physicist with that kind of a lead-in.
One day, it hit me how much access that Google has to my life and my data. I still use gmail, but I uninstalled all of the Google desktop applications from my home and work machines. I now actively avoid Google applications that in any way can be associated with my person.
Based on my novice attempts at researching odds, I found you have about a 1/12,300 chance of being killed in a motor vehicle wreck each year and a 1/40,000,000 chance of having a terrorist bomber board your flight since 9/11 (United States only). I flew home on December 27th two days after the attempted bombing and I slept the entire way back.
I like Ritchie movies, but the previews I saw looked very female-targeted. Plus, I listened to a girl droning on an on yesterday about how and what she liked about it. Sounded kinda girlie to me. Disclaimer: I haven't seen it. And remember, he made that movie with Madonna too.
You just named two movies I have no interest in seeing and when you're selling a niche movie you can spend a small amount of money and succeed. Sherlock Holmes looks like a chick-flick period piece (shirtless slap fight included for your GF's viewing pleasure) and the Chipmunks is for kids. I saw Avatar and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't go into the theater expecting James Cameron to give me a handjob, I just wanted to watch a good sci-fi flick and I did. Sometimes, us sci-fi fans get way to self-righteous about the genre.

...as in "end of the Republic" horrible. We just greased the slide to a complete fall into Fascism.
It's cheaper to buy a pizza in a pizza shop than have it delivered. You're paying for convenience.
It's off, WAY off :)

...seeing as I get paid 2 times a month.

You did post your suggestion to my suggestion box didn't you?

You know, like keeping the camera in focus and not moving around and getting the camera guy to shut up?

Mr. Smithers trying to convince the townsfolk that his nuclear powered cell phones aren't dangerous. I bet they taste like chocolate, too!

Now, you need to disprove the pesky myth of the female orgasm!
You know that hanging preposition thing isn't a real rule of grammar right?

A robot hand gets more action than I do!
