    I've started to know him when I was a DBA (long long time ago) on the great Informix Dynamic Server... Informix purchased Illustra Information Technologies, formed by Dr. Stonebraker, and Informix Universal Server was born... Congratulations Dr. Stonebraker!!!

    Totally with you...!!! With my iPad 3, both iOS 6 and now iOS 7, slashdot mobile site hangs up 95% of the time. I try to switch to the "classic" site, while waiting for the mobile to come up, but nothing happens or better... crashes!!! In other words, when browsing content with my iPad, I now avoid going/coming to slashdot. (I do most of my browsing at home, after work, relaxing). Cheers.

    the 9.7 inch diagonal of iPad, regardless resolution (i.e. iPad / iPad 2 against iPad 3 / 4 Retina), is just perfect...!!! Jobs got it on the spot... unique, top quality web exeperience, nothing else is on the market today. Safari is unique on iOS. For everything else on the fly, the smarthphone or iPod touch will do. cheers womby
