my logitech mx518 (two mouse buttons, clickable scroll wheel, two mouse sensitivity buttons, back/forward buttons) works under XP without any sort of extra logitech drivers.
honestly, i can see installing drivers for a joystick or something, but a mouse?
sure, putting these things in LEO rather then GEO has some advantages, lower launch cost, lower latency, but that means each satelite will be traveling in and out of your view, so you will be switching satelite connections every x minutes... i wonder what that will do to SSL sessions etc...
OTOH, I've got a console and a DS at home, and usually play with the DS. I can just open and shut the lid whenever I need to without having to wait. To me, the DS is much more about playing WHEN I want rather then WHERE. Then again, I don't have a hardcore gamer mentality; I play games for fun, not for a challenge; I don't play for hours on end.
Same here, my DS has fallen into disuse the last few years, but i have my PSP on my nightstand in sleep-mode, so i can play a level of little-big-planet / race in gran turismo during the commercial breaks when i'm watching TV, which is something i couldnt/wouldnt really do with the 360/wii/gaming pc
there have been some rumors about the 3ds having region locking, and i seem to remember from the gamecube days, isnt australia in the same region as europe? (nintendo wise anyway?)
last august i signed on buying a house, but since the previous owners didnt have anything new yet, they would only agree on hand-over in november (or i didnt want to pay lots and lots extra for earlier handover), moreover, my first child is due in may, so having the moving in the spring would have been worse then it already was (girlfriend being unable to do just about anything). Not to mention we really hated our crappy rental-house we previously lived in, and once you chose a new place, you just want to move already.
Autumn/winter did bring some shitty stuff though, one week after we got the key it started snowing, which limited us to using one car (the other one is an old dog without any sort of safety measures, i dont drive it in sub-zero conditions), lots of family help couldnt make it due to winter-weather...
We did make it OK enough, but there is still a lot of left over work to be done in the new house, and the move was more stressfull on me than it could have been, but postponing it just wasnt an option

You sir, are a credit to your job and i hope the installers i meet in the future are even half as dedicated as you.
do note that i didnt say anything about *buying* full discographies, and happily enough, for now that is legal here in holland
Bands that i do really like, do get my money, i do own for instance, every judas priest CD i was able to find in stories (okay, only distinct CDs, not every copy i ever saw)
and oddly enough, even my much more pop-inclined GF only buys full albums, even if she just heard the one interesting single
I dont use itunes myself, but i also shun singles, for me it is full album or nothing (sometimes a few good songs trigger me to just go full discography on a band)
laugh all you want, but here in holland, most cities give people who are on government support 400 euros every so many years to buy a new TV, because god knows there is no way those people could survive without a 32 inch flatscreen!
I am all for stuff like universal healthcare, but things like this makes me feel like im living in commie country..
Dont forget about the hardware cost, They cant possibly offer windows XP, with it being EOL (only extended support for businesses), so these system would need the hardware to run windows 7, which would cost more then a system capable of running XP/ubuntu
nice idea, but given that gravity is lower on the moon, the counterweight of the trebuchet would only hold 1/6th of the energy it would on earth, so you would need the same size treb as you would on earth, save for less sturdy construction.

Sadly, some of us are at work... without a private office
