I thought the whole thing screams "honeypot". I doubt any of the experiences bad guys will fall for this... which means they'll catch a lot of newbies and people who otherwise wouldn't have tried this line of "work". I wonder if they could get in trouble for entrapment? Hmm. Interesting. Although, I could be totally wrong, I'd still definitely avoid the place like the plague if I was looking to buy or sell there.
How would you convince the US gov't that this is anti-competitive when they don't even get why SOPA & PIPA are not workable? These are the same people too, who use Microsoft OS's at home and work.
Unfortunately the U.S. politicians see money from oil industry as more important than renewable energy. It's a totally different "economy" in Washington -- pay for the campaign funds received from companies, with human lives. It's supply and demand. It's quite cheap for congress to get money that way really, since they're spending other people's lives and not their own. I often wonder just how patriotic congressmen & senators would be, if they had to be on the front line when they declare wars. Of course, that'll never be a law, 'cause they'd have to pass it.
Last two times I went to the theater was to see I Am Number 4 (2010), & Star Trek (2009). Seriously. It's just not worth my money to go to the movies much anymore. Yeah, if the prices were lower, I'd go see more movies again instead of waiting for them to be online or TV. It's really basic supply & demand really; Not news.
They say everything has a price, but the price of a smartphone's service cost & contract length, isn't low enough yet for me to exchange my free time for extra hours of work in order to use a smartphone that I don't need wherever I go. I know I'm in the minority, but that's why I've never been bothered to get sucked into one. I actually just use a tracfone. I know, I'm not cool, but that's ok with me as long as I don't have to be under contract to pay $100 a month for the next two years.
As funny as that sounds, didn't he get the Vatican breathing heavy down his neck for some stuff like gravity and his religious views? That could be considered the 18th century equivalent of a cease & desist from lawyers over IP.
But a flaw in IE can root your system, since IE is tied in so deep. So, even if the insecurity is in Java or Flash or some other plugin, it can have much nastier effects than the same problem via Chrome since Chrome isn't tied into the system. (assuming we're talking about Windows comp's and not Chrome OS or Linux/WINE). In this way, IE is still a bigger insecurity than any other Windows browser even when the insecurity isn't specifically an IE flaw, because IE's "tied in" design is flawed.
But since the ice/snow on the poles grows & shrinks, then it's already clear that the water exists in non-frozen form at times. To think that it goes from solid to gas instantly without any liquid form on a planet (Mars) where there are dry river beds, would be logical. (NASA's known about the river beds since 1998 at least, see http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap980205.html)
I'd really like to think, with all the tax dollars going to NASA, that they would consider water (in the form of snow & ice) on the poles as evidence of water.
0-day that allows 1,000,000's of system to be rooted + No update for a month & 6 days when its scheduled update is ready = How Adobe Does Business while Its Flash platform is losing Adobe's grip on the internet.
I've been a big supporter of Google in the past, but I've been getting very weary of their decisions over the past several months. I think 2012 may be the year I stop using their services if they don't get back to normal. I feel like they're turning on their supporters a little here & a little there... and it ain't stopping yet.
This is exactly why treaties & extradition laws are made. The fact they are doing these things without an agreement with the host country, is essentially the USA intentionally breaking international laws. So your argument really says -- it's ok for the USA to break others laws on the other countries properties & citizens, 'cause the USA shouldn't allow people to break the USA's laws. So riddle me this -- how can the USA protect law & order if they have to break law & order to accomplish it?
Very interesting about the money spent fighting piracy vs terrorism. I did a quick Google but couldn't find the numbers for that. What are the dollars involved for each by the US gov't? I'm really interested in that.
If they keep this up, I won't be surprised if the rest of the world gets together & develops a new domain system that keeps the US (and any other country) from being able to control *cough*icann*cough* the system like this. They'd probably start building this on top of IPv6 in order to separate it from the now popular net? Or maybe develop a whole new version of HTTP or IP to handle it without letting it crossover with the "US net". I don't know how they'll do it, but they'll have to do it if the US keeps doing this.
Where are all the mods? Somebody needs to up this guy's score 'cause it's statistically insightful. After all, if it's 4.75 between Facebook friends, then to connect someone without a Facebook account, one would have to add another 1 to it. Which totally blows away the argument.
Isn't that part of the beauty of Open Source though? I love being able to copy-n-paste, to avoid reinventing to wheel or avoid typing all afternoon for something you can do in 20 minutes or less. The problem is "programmers" who don't understand what they just copy-n-pasted, can't tweak it to fit their needs, and don't care to figure out (or learn) what the code is doing.
Actually no, I get mod points every week. Over the past couple months, I've noticed a number of people doing what I just did & not gettin' any trouble for it. So I figured there was no harm.

Hack (verb) - to cut off someone's finger or eyeball, in order to use it later for biometrically entering their computer accounts.
Aaahhh thanks. I thought the Vatican made life hard for everybody back then, but forgot my British history.

That would be smart for the learning environment AND to avoid legal issues from rich parents who are determined to get their kid a retest.
Love that idea.

I love how easy it is to find software for my Ubuntu laptop & install it. Rarely ever even have to reboot too. So much easier than Windows.

Does SSH use a CA system?

I'm really undercharging.
I didn't argue that, I responded to his other point. Sorry, I would've quoted him but I thought that was obvious.
