How long until.net technology is first required class at major universities? We were forced to learn VB 5.0 to get past the first class At IUPUI. The next class was C programming (taught with visual studio C++). Everyone has sold there soul to MS. The Active directory is eaten everything up a lot more than Kpacman.

I saw a TV documentary or something while channel surfing one time, It showed some Military Guy, Navy I think. They were using Windows. It looked like a freshly install box along with a setup an internet connection Icon and a signup for msn icon right on the desktop. I all most puked.
I am currently using Mandrake 7.2 beta at home. I like to live on the edge. It does lots of weird stuff like not rebooting, etc. and so on. It plays Quake3 great though. Is RH 7 any worse than Mandrake 7.2 beta? I ordered RH 7 from Cheapbytes last week, should I stick with Mandrake and wait for the production release or try out RH 7?

Is that why they took someone elses programming and put there name on it. Something about apple eludes me. They spend so much time on stuuf that just doesn't matter for the average geek. I thought that their G4 were good, but I wonder about their business. It doesn't seem any better than Microsoft. I guess that they are trying to sell computers to people that don't want to know about computers. Maybe they should make a bigger Keyboard with E-mail and WWW and Shop buttons on it color coded like a preschool toy. I am really amazed at this company. I used to think that they were better than Microsoft. Now, I don't know.
X: I think of unix. I think of startx. I think of Xfree86. I think that it should be running X. BUT NO!!!! Microsoft is using what would be good name for a Linux game console. What does Microsoft have to do with X? Is this box going to run an Xserver on top of DOS? I don't think so. Use Xwindows not Xbox. Maybe it is like SQL. When I say SQL people think Microsoft SQL server. They are associated with the name. What a great marketing machine they are. Now, When a kid thinks X he'll think Microsoft first, and then have to be explained exactly what X really is.
You have heard WinModems, Well here comes LinModems. How about *nixDSL, or something with some guts. These companies just want to make money, obviously. Money above quality.
