If you can't adapt and overcome obsticales, you will lose in the long run every time. Its too bad, though because that was the only mature and native Office program for *nix. True, StarOffice and KOffice are out there, but SO is too bloated and looks like Win95, which Idon't want. And KOffice is still in development. Oh well, I suppose I can just use Gobe Productive for BeOS or Office2k.
That is an incredible amount of video game equipment and games. This guy must either be rich, or spent every last cent on video games. I wouldn't be surprised though if we see a link to something like this in the next couple of days.

Not like I could afford it anyways...
Cool idea. Good start. But where are the games? The reasons I'm NOT buying a PS2 is because I don't like any of the games available now or on the release list, I already have a DVD player, and it costs too much.
Shenmue, Samba de Amigo, Jet Grind Radio, F355 Challenge, Grandia 2, etc. and Gran Turismo 2, Reboot, and Ghost in the Shell. Dreamcast has more great games than I can afford and have time to play. Please don't think that I'm biased to Sega, 'cause I'm not. I'm biased toward good games and they just happen to be on Dreamcast at the moment.
...point this thing at some closer galaxies like, Alpha Centauri and study something closer? I realize that this was probably built for, please correct me if I'm wrong, Deep Space Exploration, but seriously, why can't we point it at something closer and study it.
As an American, I'm fed up with this election. I also think that this year's election was humiliating for the US. Taking nearly a month to complete, lawsuits galore, loopholes in the law, the media jumping to conclusions, and people trying to force their ways even though they lost. I'm sure this will not be the end of it. I hope as we reflect back upon it, we decide that the system needs to be changed and updated for the 21st century.

Don't blame me. I don't live in Florida.
its still vaporware. Granted they have some big name companies looking at it, but by the time they get some products out, Bluetooth will be in full force here in the states. I'm sure someone is already on a faster version of Bluetooth. Maybe they can get some products out in a timely manor with Linux support.
Rambus needs to be stopped. Everyone, but Rambus, is going to be screwed if they can pull this off. Higher prices everywhere in anything that uses a patent that Rambus owns.
I wonder if my Commodore 64 still works?
On the government computer systems that I help administer, we find unauthorized software on our systems on a daily basis. Our users are required to sign User Agreements that say do not install any unapproved software, but they do it anyways, always thinking they won't get caught. Unfortunately for us, when they do get caught, management usually dismisses it, saying we are a customer based organization and the customer, no matter how stupid and wrong, is always right. They always go free with no punishment. I don't think these people will be so fortunate. The programmers who did this should be promoted, while the management should be fired or relocated to a "radar tower in Alaska."
I found it interesting, that the article said, "...which CIA investigators discovered while performing routine computer security checks..." Then later said, "...'This activity has apparently been taking place for some time...'" If it was a routine check, then shouldn't they have caught it before it got out of hand? The only reason they didn't, that I can think of, is they wanted to catch the guilty parties involved. I don't feel sorry for any of the parties involved because they breached their contract.
just educated guesses. They did a some research into the business side of the OSes and made guesses on the basis of the business user. You may not agree, but business and corporations are the largest market share, not you and me. So its pretty obvious who the hardware/software business would target. I personally would have included Apple, as it is still a viable platform for office and home use. And with the new BSD underpinnings, it will be a great business OS. As far as the *nix's go, it'd be nice to see *nix take some server shares back. Maybe businesses will realize that *nix is more reliable, and, for the most part, less expensive.
they're patenting it for ip protection. But, if they, for some stupid reason, decided to license those instructions out, imagine the royalties that could be collected. $.0001 every time you use that instruction! That would add up real quick. I wonder why Idea Corp. didn't patent it, cause otherwise, HP is getting screwed out of a patent they helped work on.
...the story was exactly that, fiction. If they could log on as mafiaboy, I'm sure someone could log on as icee. icee seemed more paranoid than 2600 posing as mafiaboy. What if...they are desperate for some good press after all this bad press from the whole MPAA/DeCSS thing? What if...this was all true? What if.../*insert conspiracy here*/?

I'll stick with my Dreamcast and PSOne.
Why?

I want the one with built-in DVD. Too bad its going to be out of my price range...
Just an idea...

Someone would need to develop a new input device that is as efficient and cost-effective as a mouse, trackball, etc.
