So you would rather have EVERY state be as fucked up as the rest? I'm sorry but I think the Federal system of government is a good idea. If one state goes too far, there is always the option of moving out of state. Likewise, if another state offers you a better deal, move there. Competition is good. The founding fathers knew this.
I'm pissed off.. I had originally put my order in for $14, knowing how they often raise the price at the last minute. I get home today, and see that they CANCELLED my original order and wanted me to reconfirm, however it had already priced and they had already given out shares, so I didn't get any shares.
Screw E*TRADE, I've been a customer for over 2 years and they way they do IPOs leaves a lot to be desired.

Actually one of the bill's two sponsors is Senator Diane Feinstein, a Democrat from California.
I think you are confused.. basically the law would prohibit the DENIAL of export permission to be challenged. You could still challenge the law itself on Constitutional grounds.
I believe you are wrong. The Supreme Court ruled that the line item veto was unconstitutional last year. They said that it unfairly altered the balance of powers setup by the Constitution.
The method breaking up the bill into many other bills was discussed, but as far as I know, they never used that method. Congress simply had passed a law saying the president could veto certain items, and keep the rest of the bill.

I looked at your resume.. you mean you are getting $9 an hour for what you do? WHY? I mean the only black mark I could find was your education, but that really shouldn't be that big of a factor in this industry.
If they won't pay you a realisitic wage, quit and get a real job that doesn't require 80 hour weeks.
Can you control more than 16 devices at a time without going to the reciever and changing the house code physically? For example, the reciever is set to A, but I want to turn B1 on. I've tried sending B1 on through the software, and it doesn't do anything. However when I change the reciever to B, then I can send B commands.
Whats the point of the software even sending the house code if the device has to be physically set to a code anyway?
I'm on Intermedia @HOME, and I did some testing today and couldn't get more than about 14Kbps on my uploads.
Even worse, when you are uploading at the max of 14Kbps, your downloads are basically KILLED. Its worse than a 2400 bps modem at that point. I've heard this explained as resulting from the ACK packets getting throttled, so since they can't get through, your downloads are basically killed as well.
Folks, this is simply unacceptable. When I signed up for @HOME over 6 months ago, the service tech told me that they had PLENTY of bandwidth, and wouldn't need to limit it. He said that if they ever did peak out their connections, they simply would add more bandwidth. As everyone knows, this hasn't been the case at all.
Let the Slashdot effect wreck its wrath on @home. I don't have a problem with @home making people running serious servers moving to a more expensive service, or stop serving. But if I just want to upload a few large files to my school webserver, I don't feel like they should be intentionally limiting my bandwidth. It would be simple to run statatics at the end of every month and identify the users and the abusers. Educate or disconnect the abusers and let the users enjoy the service that was advertised and that was paid for.

I wonder about this.. I'm a student pilot and as far as I know, there is no regulation that requires the use of an airport or 'vertiport'. If I wanted to, I could land and takeoff anywhere with the property owners permission. (I've been told that local laws may vary, but this is the FAA position)
Its the nature of government to start small, then expand their program when it doesn't work out the way they planned. I bet within a couple of years, this same agency will complain that the original plan is being 'subverted' and that they need to tighten the regulations. They will probably argue for disabled access to ALL pages in the United States. Next thing you know, your family webpage will have to include the 'script' to any audio files you have posted, and don't even think about using fancy graphics.
I know that the Adaptec software avoids writing in the same spot repeatively if possible; this is to conserve disc life.
Since, the majority of Red Hat shares are held by employees there, I doubt this is gonna happen anytime soon.
its all the same :)

Chicago is listed on that map. WTF?
You get a free Linux Fund t-shirt too!
Actually the first Mac came with 128kb :)
The difference between a warrant and what this proposes is huge.
If the feds come in and search my house, they have to present me with the search warrant, and I will know exactly what they take.
This scheme would use secret sealed search warrents, and you would never know that the feds are spying on you.
Note:
For the uninformed. the above reply was intended as sarcasm.
Sure. Why not? You don't have anything to hide do you?
Maybe, but if you take any logic class or Discrete Mathematics course you will have the term defined as that.

Nope, the line item veto was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court. (this year/last year?)
5% in most parts of South Carolina except those areas that have a local 1%.
note: I'm from South Carolina, but I didn't vote this bastard in.

You must be thinking of the Palm VII.

Tennesee's ISDN prices are't the norm. The Public Utility Commission there has forced BellSouth to offer ISDN at prices well below the national norm.
