On the bright side, my fiance is a huge fan or organics and natural products, of which I do not think J&J make any. Apparently there is a brand called Method (we get ours at target.. and I hate target...) that has most household and personal cleaners that are all natural (or so my fiance tells me) to replace J&J products..

ps... this is not a shameless plug, personally, I buy whats cheapest on the shelves.. but I will be looking to avoid any J&J stuff now.

Of course the cost of the parts does not take into account assembly, or the research and development that went into the iphone, which if you ask me, those R&D folks should be canned for making so many obvious mistakes and omissions on the released product, but thats just my opinion.

They are doing this to prevent people from buying the phone, and not setting up an account with ATT, otherwise all you have is a over priced glorified ipod. ATT/Apple are pulling out all the stops to prevent people from buying the phone and going to another carrier, since the price is not subsidized, and many people want the phone, and are willing to pay a fortune for it, there is nothing stopping someone from signing up when buying the phone, and then paying the $175 early termination fee, essentially getting the iphone for 600, +175 etf, and going to tmobile.... I imagine there will be plenty of iphones on ebay for $1k and up...

The problem here is that the iphone is not subsidized. You are correct about the contract issue though, they offer subsidies and significant discounts to entice you to sign a contract. If you have no noticed, all the iphone ads and posters appear to have removed the 2 year requirement statement.

No one really knows for sure whats happening, and we will find out on the 29th, and I am sure the iphone sales will be phenomenal, but I also suspect a backlash when people find out their paying $100 a month, and the phone lacks some functionality that many people may want (navigation for one).

Additionally, Cingular.. sorry the new att's network is severely overtaxed, and oversubscribed. The least dropped calls in their ads are correct, only due to the fact they have the least connected calls. Many people are having problems calling, and in some cases have to redial constantly to get a call to connect. When you suddenly add 3 million iphones to the network, I suspect it will melt down.

As for the article, although the user wants her myspace account back, I believe the bigger picture is that myspace is going to share the database of sex offenders (or those they atleast thing are, whether or not they are correct) with the state attorneys general. This, in the long run, could come back and cause serious problems for an individual who is in fact not a sex offender, and never was.

Yahoo and google etc are not clueless, just over worked. I have worked security for large ISPs, UUNET (prior to MCI getting involved), AOL Time Warner, and a couple of others. They get far too many complaints to be able to respond to each, so you are lucky if you get an autoresponce, but don't expect them to contact you, there is just no time for it. The attachment problem is due to the fact that in many cases, complaints are placed into a tracking system, so instead of an attachment, you end up with uuencoded text, its a pain to have to reassemble that manually for every complaint, and if you hit up the security pages of those websites, they clearly state not to use attachments.

Unless the botnet has caused more then $5k in proven damages, with tangible evidence, law enforcement will not get involved, this is at the federal level, not sure about state and local, as they rarely deal with cyber crimes of this type, they prefer to deal with cyber stalking and threats to individuals in their localities. If you must report a botnet, report it to USCERT (run by DHS), they may not be able to get to the root if its in one of those countries listed, but they can research it, and they are capable, and if something can be done, it will be done in the background.
