I just wanted to say publicly, WOW. I installed last night on my main machine and was impressed but what just took the cake is sitting down at work and no longer needing to bounc speaker cables around to list to music on my Ipod.
Happens some days. A key breaker at a data center some of my friends work at went bad and took the whole floor with it. Generators didn't even get a shot at takeing the load because the breakage happend later in the circut. No matter how big and bad your infrastructure some points in the design will not be 100% resistent to all problems. We do our best, make plans, design good systems but the world teaches us Shit happens.
The fun thing about reading/. some days is seeing people you know at random. I don't know you but I know the Dr. doing the research. I interviewed with him about 2 years back. His old HR person was Cory B. shes an old friend.
Thats easy. Me. Why? Because they don't have a tool to move about 6 years of mail easily. I use *bird on other machines but untill I don't have to hand edit files I'm not moving the main machine over.
Here in the subburbs of Hartford CT they go about it differently... the just zone out Arcades, bowling allys and the like.... Less the undesierables from other towns come to our town... repeate from town to town... then there is no problem! Our kids stay at home and drink where ever they can... and they are safe from the "bad kidds" from elcewhere!
And I'm reading this because?? Play computer games or don't (I do). but why on earth would I care to read about you playing a game and getting stuck? Will somone please explane to me why in heaven anyone cares about how you sublimated your life to a game?
If it was that inportent for the me to keep the FBI (or anyone else) out of my data... the machine with PGP woulden't be the one on the network...sneaker net a cd of the encrypted data. To a box (or singel disk distro) decrypt there.. write a reply there.. sneaker net it back to the box on the net.. you get the picture.
Why is it that every time this happens we/. the hell out of all the home and mirror sites. It seems to me that the first thing to do would be to get it out on as many distributed file sharing systems as posable. I'm getting this onto all the file sharing programs that I use as soon as the DL finishes. It would be nice if everyone did the same.
I got in by being a BFA in theater (with a CS minor). I just showed up knowing next to nothing but with a "I'm your go to guy" kind of attitude and a "I RTFM. when I don't know". It's a year later and I love my work hate my company and wonder why I stoped doing art.

considering it was a revilation that people can cheat with SMS I bet you that it takes a few years for the people in charge to work that out.
